Hi guys, I just put my picco in, and now after the break in, I'm starting to get on it . And just like I thought would happen, it is starting to strip out the new RPM rims (maybe a gallon on them) and I'am POSITVE that they were tite ALL the time, I checked them after every tank! Now for my question .What alum. rims do you run with your picco and have no trouble with or what alum rims would you recommend if your not happy with what you bought? I want this to be the last set of rims I buy. As always I appreciate your time for your reply.

my friend has had the pico in his for several months now and he is still using the stock rims and tires, never has had a problem.

I have used RPM, stock TRAXXAS T-Maxx rims, IMEX rims, and of course the stock Savage rims. The only ones to strip out were the HPI Savage rims. The RPM rims were getting close. The TRAXXAS rims and the IMEX rims have no signs of strippage what-so-ever.

I run a Hyper 21 8-Port.

You might try taking advantage of RPM's warranty program. They pretty much replace anything they sell without question when it gets broken for any reason.

As for Aluminum rims, any set you buy should be the last set you have to replace for the stripping of the hex reason, but ... and this is a big but....you may find that they get bent and then you have quite a pricetag to replace the damaged rim. No re-banding or re-shaping on those things will make them smooth again. Just food for thought.

Thanks guy's I just might give those T-Max rims a try when these rims are completely junk. I will see what RPM has to say, what the hell I'm out nothing.

I'm just wonderring......going out on a limb here.....but has anyone had this stripping problem with using aftermarket Hex nuts? Currently I use the hotbodies locking hex nuts and have had no problem whatsoever.

I'm wondering if it is the size of the stock hex nuts that may be the cause of the issue.

Thoughts?

Çh®i§tiªñ I'm running the same hexs as you . My rims are not junk YET but I'm sure it won't be long. What rims are you running? Thanks

I run 3 sets alternating right now. The ProLine BigJoe 40's, Maximizer Beadlocks and RPM Clawz. I threw the stock on there the other day for a couple of tanks but that was it. On the surface I was running the stock tires sucked so I'm going back to the big joes. Those things are awesome!

Are the Maximizer Beadlocks plastic or alum.? Do you have a link to them?

at one time there was some Beadlocks on ebay that where aluminum. but did not look that hard has anyone seen them or am i making this up.

never mind found them on the link thanks.

I'm using TRC outbacks and have had no stripping problems yet with my .25 ... however i did strip one of my rear stock wheels earlier. but i think it had something to do with the massive ammounts of donuts and driving on 2 wheels (the left side wheels) that i did ... i beat on it pretty hard... i just kinda melted the whole wheel .. either way , i really like my TRC wheels
