Mine hasnt come in yet, but when it does I will let you know.

Did you pull the restricter out of yours?

Help me, i know its :OT: but can anyone show me the air restrictor, there could be one in my rs4 rtr3 N Star 15fe engine.

I'm having some trouble with mine. It starts off like a rocket but boogs down at about 20 to 30 feet with WOT. if I go half throttle its fine. I know it is a high speed needle adjustment but wich way? is it to rich or to lean? I richened it up 1/4 turn and it stalls after 2 ft. and leaning doesn't seem to be doing anything. any help would be appreciated.

the silver sleeve is the carb restricter in this picture.https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=525

I did A LOT of reading on this mill last night. Seems like there are a handful of problematic ones out there. Wont hold an idle and the low end is just not there. So, what everyone has done, that I have read, to fix the issue, is pull apart the carb and the needle assemblies. Then, clear out any of the rubber from the o-rings that may be floating around. Then, regrease and reseat the rings, clean the reast and put it back together.

Seems that they didnt trim up the o-rings good enough before installation. I have even seen pics with the o-rins not seated on their respective grooves.

Check it out.

Aside from what Çh®i§tiªñ stated (twice :D), your problem sounds like you are running too rich. If it is bogging 20 feet away or 2 feet away, when you hit the gas the end result is the engine loads up with fuel and can't clear it...thus it is bogging down. Start at the factory preset and start leaning from there (high speed or main needle). Do not be surprised if you need to lean it until almost seated. My factory presets on the Hyper are 4-5 turns from seated. I am running at 2.5 turns from seated.

So lean it up and see what you get.

Thanks for the help, I'll try it as soon as I can get time away from watching the kids.

I've been hearing great things about the Picco .26 from everyone, but I do have one question. Does it bolt right up to the stalk engine mount, or do you have to customize anything? Also, compared to 38,000 from the 8 Port, does anyone know the RPM's for this engine? After all, torque makes wheelie's but RPM's make speed.

.26 makes 2.7hp and 37000rpm.I think its much faster than my 8 port and gets there in alot less time. IT rips up on the bigend

rpm doesn't really mean anything unless it has the power in that specific range... how are you going to reach 38000 rpm if the 8 port loses its power at around 35000. the 38000 rpm you see is the PEAK rpm I'm a bit skeptical about Ofnas figures i think they are a little off or they didnt actually test it under "normal" conditions.

Pseudo......Please clear a few things up for me. First, what is your definition of "power"? Are you talking about advertised HP or torque? There is a big difference between the two. Second, how do you know the 8 Port drops off @ 35,000 rpm's? Is this something you can confirm, or is it just opinion? Third, what are "normal" conditions? Are you referring to a dino for actual performance specs or is "normal" out in the dirt? Don't get me wrong, this engine sounds really awesome. This will probably be my next investment for my Savage.
