Ok guys, I'm thinking about getting this mill for my revo. I was just wondering if anyone has one what there comments, and oppions on it are. How long do they hold up, how hard to tune, and such. I am also thinking about having AB modds, mod it for me, so it should be a real screamer. So anyone have any comments on this mill. Thanks for any help.

I have one in my Maxx, and it SCREAMS! I know the Revo is longer and possibly a little heavier than the Maxx, but you put that mill in there and it's like it doesn't weigh anything at all. It'll just throw it around like a tennis ball in a pack of dogs. After a while, you'll learn to go light on the throttle to keep the nose down and just GO! Rather than just punch it, you give it just enough gas to lift the nose a half inch and that shoots it forward.

I'd say this is the easiest and least finicky engine to tune so far. It holds a tune very well, and factory settings (for me) are only a little bit off from the perfect tune.

Not only that, but it just plain looks cool. I love the way the cooling head looks, all blue and flamey like it is. It almost made me want to break something first time I scratched it. The black ano on the block looks cool too.

If I may suggest though, don't use the EZ on it. Use the included pull start (if you go that way) or bump start. Once it gets a tune, it'll fire up in at most 5 or 6 pulls at a cold start. Even on the first ever start it only took me five pulls. I used the heat cycle method, by the way.

Here's a video of mine, with a Resonator pipe. It not only looks cool, it sounds cool!

Oh, btw, I'm on a gallon and a half, and it's still pretty tight on a cold start.

I will let you know shortly.I just finished the .26 Maxxinstall on my Cyber-Maxx.I am waiting for some decent temperatures for the break in(19 F today and snowing ).Hopefuly tomarrow will be above freezing:),the suspense is killin me.

Well this weekend I'm going to buy the damn thing then lol. It just looks to good. AB modded, should be insane. Cooper that is exactly what I wanted to hear. But no worries on the wheelies, I'm running a center diff, and going to put a JP-3 side pipe on it. The THS rear mount is on the back burrner, because I'm probally going to switch my os to my basher rig, and use my resignator on it, or my trinity. I can't wait. I'm going to be chompin at the bite to get it going once I send it to get modded, but it will just add to the enjoyment of when I get to break it in!

Buy yourself a nice set of Proline Bowties for the track since the stock Talons are crap on clay and smooth dirt. The Prolines handle the dirt like nothing to it though.

I'm so glad to hear this. I've been considering a .26 maxx or a .21 os tm for my maxx. Now that I've heard from someone that has one of these I'm going to look at them hard!

I have so many sets of tires and wheels its not funny. I have my track tires, and I have my bashers, but out of all the Talons, are my favorit for everything, they grip street, dirt, grass, any and everything. I can't wait to get this mill!

(sigh's)! Tell me, why arnt they good at the track? If i run a center diff, I can't see any problems. lol.

They just slip around a lot. I guess the large treads don't provide enough traction on the loose dirt and dusty clay that they use at my track. They work admirably on everything else though.

I just use the Proline Bowties I got at the track the other day and they work great on the track.

everone seems to run bowtie, crimefighter,or the panther equivelents at my local track. Most running the pre mounted 17MM prolines

I thought the stockers where a great all around tire but the racing tires seam to have stiffer foam and stiffer sidewalls.Handling is a a bit more crisp.

I have ripped the side walls on a few sets of Talons but they look good and traction is great all around in my opinion.

 The Talons are great tires, they just don't have that extra bit of edge that will win the race on the track. It could have just been me, but I couldn't stop the truck from sliding with the Talons on the dirt track. It's a hard packed clay track with dusting of loose dirt. That's why the Bowties work so well because the little nubs have so much more surface area hitting the track on-power than the Talons (I think they sort of bend to stick to the road when the engine goes on-power, unlike the big knobs on the Talons which stay put).

Plus, my Bowties have much stiffer foams than the Talons, which could help the slide factor a bit.

EDIT: next time I go to the track, I'll get you guys some video of each tire set.

ok I could not wait any longer 39f today and sunny.I fired up the Picco .26
(427) Maxx for break in.Tin foil and a baby sock on the head temp gun and glow starter and off we went.Tank one was telling this thing is going to scream.I mad it to tank four before I let it hit second gear.Tank six started to roll the throttle to wide open for 5 second burst.I am running an extended wheel base,6" tall 41/2" wide jumbo claw dawgs, with a chassis full of aluminum and steel.I finally gave the trottle a quick tug to wide open and the rears tires broke loose for a moment then began to claw the asphalt lifting the front wheels when suddenly the whole truck flipped on its back and slid 3' on its roof till it was stopped by the curb. Mission acomplished ! Well the throttle servo took a crap.the transmitter batterys were blinking change me,:ahh::ahh: and the c clip in front of the clutch bell disapered.Off to the work bench and a few hours later we are ready to finish breakin tomarrow I think. Its only gonna get faster and I am extremely happy with this engine thus far.Robinson Racing 44/16 combo with the wide ration tranny seems to hit the sweet spot.Hell I probably won't be able to sleep tonight what a rush :):dancin::jittery::w00t:

Ya I'm going to buy mine next week. I can't wait! But mine is going to be modded, so I know ill be nice and happy with it lol!

No I have not used Ab before, but I have heard he is really good. Ya I modded my own engine before, but wouldnt trust my own tinkering on a expensive new mill. Why have you had a problem with AB or something.

I just installed a .26 max last night with the traxxas big block kit and I'm having trouble with the linkage. I had to open up the slot on the pivot arm to fit looser. I'm using the smaller of the 2 brackets for the the pivot arm and also had to mount it upside down to line up properly. With the smaller bracket I also need to raise it up about 3/16. It doesn't seem to pull the carb arm as smooth as I would like. What configuration are you guys using??

Get the Tekno throttle set up. I know I will be if I ever get around to buying a bigger engine.

I went up to my old high school today to do some running, burn some nitro and a couple of battery packs. I need to take a pic one day when I go there. Here is how it looks, there is a perfect hill like 4 foot tall covered in grass at the top is a sidewalk then behind that there is a dirt lot. I then put a bmx ramp that I found on the hill and you can easy get 10 foot of air.

So I'm just bashing away having a ball, and beating the living crap out of my truck. In between tanks driving my rc18mt around. I just love bashing lol, nice and relaxing. Then I got ballsy and started hiting the ramp in second gear, I'm 6'1" and this sucker was easly over my head by 2 foot. It was killer. Then it happend I hit the ramp, the truck endoed mid air, I couldnt corect in time, and smashhhh, the reciver battery went flying. But that was the only casuality, 2 new zip ties and I was up and going again. So everything held up. The port and polish on the mill I feel really did it some good, i couldnt get it to run over 200, but it was still pullin wheelies in the grass.

Then I looked across the football feild to see some guy with a big ass rc truck. I packed up my crap and drove over to the spot he was at. He had a Cen moster truck of some sort, big ass tires, head the size of a coke can freakin sweet lookin. He was pullin and pullin on the cord and couldnt get it to fire, I asked "Did you prime that sucker hes all whats that?" lol. I showed him and on the first pull it fired up lol. That truck was flying and he didnt even know it, motor was just puttin along, and my 3.3 had everthing its got to keep up with it. He wasent even in second gear lol. So thats when it hit me. I then drove home unpacked my gear, and drove to the hobby shop and ordered my new PICCO .26 maxx. Oh ya I can't wait. Next time Ill be waiting for that Cen 7.7 with a decent challenge lol. It was a good day to say the least. Hope you guys are having a good one! :smiling thumbs up:
