ok guys.... i have (for now) a traxxas revo 3.3 with a picco 26 max engine installed.

i bought it from a guy off ebay..who delivered it to my house... it was a pull start.. now the guy tried to start it and musta pulled the pull string atleast 30 times before it snapped!!

you can imagine my heart dropped! i was desperate to bash (still am!)

anyway the guy was reassuring me that theres no problems.. and that i could easily fit the original ez start onto the picco... so he kindly offered to send me everything i need minus the harness wires which i bought myself....

I'm not any good at installing stuff but my husband is so he fitted the engine back with ez start.. i was getting excited when it was time to start it up... but it just wont start...

i need to know can an ezstart just be fitted to the picco like that.. he sent me the ezstart motor and hand starter.. is there anything i need to do or know.. I'm so frustated.. you won't believe what I've been thru to get a nitro truck
thanx guys

I'm not sure what trouble you're having with the starter. Did your husband get it mounted to the Picco ok? If so, is it a problem with the starter engaging the crankshaft? Is it able to turn the engine over?

Hi i took it to my local model shop and they said everything was in correctly..but they couldnt start it either,, when i put the wand in..it makes a little noise then it stops... the guy at the shop had a motor but with no grears he connected the black n red wires to it and when he inserted the starting wand it made the same noise but it was continuious..it didn't stop.he said it may be the motor... but i was reading somewhere that the picco is too powerful for the ez start,i just wanted to know if this is true...the guy who sold me the car is coming over on tuesday to take a look..but he has been moaning to me that he hasn't got time...but i'm upset because he broke the truck right infront of me and for a week now i have been trying to get it working... he's not the only one who doesn't have time :(

Try heating the motor up, it will make it way easier to start.
A hairdryer on the engine block for 4-5 minutes will do. Loosen the glow plug just a little bit also. Once you get it running tighten it back up.

Yes, loosen the glow plug a smidge and ditch the glow wire. if it has compression and is getting fuel it should run.

The Picco Max is tight and hard on the easy start.Even pull starters.I like the shaft start for the Picco.I am a novice but here is my advice:
Make sure its getting fuel.
Make sure the glow plug is good.
Make sure your glow ignitor is good.
Set the needles back to factory settings.

Its a great engine, hope you don't have a more serious problem with it.

yea I had to loosen the glow plug a few times to get it to start. You need a good battery in the easy start to get things going.
