I just finished breaking in my picco with about 6 tanks and I was starting to adjust the setting through tanks 7 and 8 and first of all I can't full throttle it from a stand still and it just dies out when I'm at 3/4 throttle sometimes. It was running pretty good for a short time and then the issues above started happening. So I pulled the pull start and I see alot of oil inside I mean the cord is soaked and I beleive it is coming from the main bearing. The rear seal is not leaking because that is on the other side of the backplate. I am wondering if I need a new bearing so soon and is that my issue? Thanks.

Are you talking about your one way bearing??? If you are there is always going to be some leakage no matter what you do. Best bet is to get some Oxygen sensor safe sealant from the Auto parts store. Is the spring in there to hold the shaft in the one way bearing???

Yes I am talking about the one way and the brass bushing that the shaft rides on. It seems that there is alot of oil in the pullstart and I've only run 8 tanks through. My cord is also soaked. I can't seem to get the engine to run right and when I do it heats up to about 300 and then I shut it down. I'm looking for some answers on why it keeps shutting down and it also boggs down when I gun it. Here's a pic,I wiped most of it out so the pic is probably useless but here goes.

Dude with that temp and the symptoms that you describe it sounds to me like you are running awfully lean. I would try richening up the High speed needle a good bit. Also might wanna richen up the low speed needle a little too. When you open up the throttle and go for it a rush of air is going in and the fuel can't keep up thus it sounds to me like you need more of it. As for the leak I think what you are expereincing is a little bit normal.

When you set your lsn (silver) where is your needle in accordance with the barrel. At 7 1/2 turns, its out from the barrel about an 1/16 of an inch. And when I'm at that setting it won't start. Then when it's flush to the barrel it starts in about two pulls. Where are your setting on your engine so I have a ballpark to start? I think what I need is some time alone and without my son until I get it dialed in. Everytime I run and adjust he gets bored and whats to go home. So I rush the setting and not I'm not waiting to let them take affect. Let me know on your needle position? Thanks
