Did I mention that the traffic in LA SUCKS!!!
Took me 2 hours to go 35 miles On Sat. Mid Day.
No accidents, just pure volume. SUCK!!!

The ONLY thing that I don't miss about LA. When I lived out there I was about 15 min (with traffic) from the Anahiem convention center. I wish I could go :(

Does this mean you were about 1/2 mile away?

Sorry

Yep, I see that... Oh well... I'll look forward to it next year. A new friend of mine who does custom work on Heli's told me about the show.. He's won 2 trophies there for his heli's.. One of them is a rescue heli, that raises and lowers a paramedic while hovering, and the other is a stealth type military heli, that fires rockets... I'll try to get some pics from him.. I saw both in person, & was in awe...

gotta get me that quad body for the savvy. the revo one just doesn't look right being able to see that much of the chassis.

i like the quad body on the savage but all of the rest it looks like they sit to high off of the vehicle but those pics are sweet. i bet it was a blast being there!!

later,
tyler

Don't say I didn't warn you!

I have a long summary coming as well. I had a busy weekend but I hope to type the finish today.

The Quad Savvy was actually run on the indoor nitro track. At the time I was there on Saturday morning, it was on the track with two stadium trucks and what appeared to be a truggy. I don't know if it was the driver or the truggy, but it was having a hard time getting around the track with any real speed or control. The two stadium trucks did okay, but then someone put the quad on the track and to my surprise, it ran VERY well, never tipping, rolling or any other bad handling you might expect from a high bodied vehicle. Even my wife was impressed, because up to this point, after seeing the other vehicles go around the track so poorly, she was convinced this was a stupid hobby. Suddenly, when we next went to the HPI display a few feet away from the track, she wanted the quad body.

Later, she saw the 1/8 buggies run along witht he team drivers. Whole different story by then. More to come.

Sorry fellas my ISP went down and I am trying to get in touch with them but no luck. I am at work so be patient with me. as I have pics to post...lots. I got pics of the track and some of what FastEddy got. Some action pics not many. I had the pleasure of speaking to Jason Ashton a team driver for Mugen, I got pics of Adam Drake and Matt Francis, Pics of the great Joel Johnson and more. We also spoke to Jen of Hardcore Racing and a great forum sponsor. It was a pleasure to finally meet her. I remember her from last year but never put 2 and 2 together. We also met up with RC-Solutions and they have some great stuff!!! Spoke to Rob and he was very nice.

Ed it was a pleasure to have spent some time with you. Sorry bout the traffic going home. I thought you would have caught up but damn there were a lot of people on that freeway. I am glad you finally saw the bear and the beer signs. I was sure you were ahead of me. I got lost in that damn convention center and then I got lost in the parking garage! Next time we should plan a more eventful day like getting a small bash among the available members.

Be patient with me guys...I am at work.

Here is a preview..
