I decided to install my HPI cam servo saver tonight in my new Savy when I got home from work. Took a few screws out, pulled the front diff off and proceeded to strip the old steering linkage parts off. About 15 minutes later I was ready to go back together...

Placed the front dog bone into place, reinstalled the front half of the truck, and put all the screws back in their place...

I picked up the Savy and here the resounding clink-clink-clink of a dog bone hitting the garage floor. :wtf:

I'll be damned if I didn't miss the front diff cup when putting the truck together. Had to take it all back apart to reseat the dog bone.

Thank you sir may I have another.... :boxing:

LOL I did something like that the other day. I was installing aluminum rear bulks on my T-Maxx and went to put the entire rear end back on and slide in the rear drive shaft and it was about 1/2 inch short. I'm sitting there looking at going WTF the chassis grew hehe :jk: ,after looking closer I had forgot to set the pins that keep the rear end in place and it was pointed down instead of at the tranny, so I had to take it all apart lol. Good learning exsperience I guess is a way of looking at it but   frustrating. So I guess the Dufas award has been passed to me lol

had my savage apart to put on a new brake hub.. got it on there and got the rear end all loctited on to find out i forgot the WHOLE DAMN DRIVESHAFT!!!! lol had to take it all apart and start over..

I've done that on numerous cars lol... I once redid a center diff on a buggy, put it all back together, then realized I had no brakes

i have done that loads of times with my savage the worst time was when i put the dual disk brake mod on and forgot to put that littel round gold metal thing whick pushes the brake pads on the disks i was new took me some time before i found out what i did wrong.

Took my Sav out tonight to let him stretch his legs at a local industrial estate, and I just couldn't get it to start. Engine kept flooding, fuel tank had high pressure. Ended up almost running down the Rotostart battery and called it a night. On the drive home remembered that I had plugged the exhaust to stop oil dripping in my car and hadn't removed it when I was trying to start the Sav... Get home and remove the plug and it starts first time.... D'oh! Pass me that ass hat.

Am I the only one who has ever gotten pissed when it won't start for nothing...only to realize I forgot to attach the ignitor?

lol thats a good one Buncrana, I pinched my fuel line when I installed my motor and tried starting it with the pull start untill my arm felt like it was going to fall off lol and brought it in and seen what I had done

How about trying to figure out why the damn car won't start? I tried and tried ... primed it (well I thought I did) and even checked the glow ignitor as well as the glow plug. She still wouldn't start. I was stumped for about 20 minutes. That's when I realized that I forgot to put fuel in the tank .... DOH!

I did something similar, except it happened when I was first putting my Savage together. The little bronze piston fell out and being my first nitro I had no idea what it was. I was adjusting my linkages for hours before I figured it out. DUH!

when i first got mine i forgot to turn the controller on and the car and i didn't have fail safe than i started it and it soddenly took off likely the wall that it hit was close. the only damage was to the glow ignitor decause the car drove up the wall fliped on to it's roof and the glow ignitor was still in the car so it got a bit scrached.

hehe, I've only taken my savage out 3 different times.

once i forgot to put the igniter on. once i forgot to prime the engine. thats it so far.

but i was racing around my mom/dads neighborhood...and i was a good 100 feet from my truck and i started to turn it aronud and rolled it over...had to run. another time i flew through my parents yard only to hit the ONLY thing in the yard...a wheel barrel. the front right wheel slammed into the wheel barrel, steering arm popped off....3 mins later i was good to go.

on a good note, let my mother play with it....she was hooked, she wants one now, haha. when i first brought it over and i was in the yard i was at 1/2 throttle...got to the street and went WOT..and she went "HOLY poop!" and i never laughed so hard in my life

LOL At least you tried to do it. On my earlier attempts on working on the savage I FORGOT to put it back at all. I was working on the savage and a storm and saw a dodbone and ASS U MEd it was for the storm. It was the wierdest looking savage fighting for traction... I stopped it immediately after.

right now the 2 front dog bone axle thingies are out...so my truck is only RWD...it squats and GOES its crazy. mad tyte jdm drifing to! w00t lol

and donuts are a breeze.

I'm w/ diver....I did that one a few times....I'll learn my lesson someday.....
Diver were you cursing it and getting mad? I know I was.....and then when you realize what it was you try and be sly about putting fuel in and just playing it off like you figured it out???....LOL...yeah no one at my track needs to know about those days...they can be brutal w/ the ball busting on that stuff.....I'm already in the LHS computer as Eric "I broked it" O.....

I was ready to throw it in the woods! Worst part was when the one who noticed the tank was empty turned out to be a 12 yearold there with his dad. That's when I tried to played it off.
