i should be getting a savage 3.5 what is think known as? ss or xl or something? is it worth much? and do parts from other savages fit it?
 
3.5 is a .21 Savage. That is the original Savage. The X, XL and SS models are very different. You can upgrade it to what ever version of the Savage you choose. I suggest passing on the .21 model unless you are getting a really good deal on it, under 100 dollars. Otherwise look for a X model. The drivetrain is much more durable on the newer Savages.
 
Get the Savage X conversion kit. I'm not sure if you can go from a .21 to an XL though without skipping the X state. I had a S25, and I added the Savage X TVP's to it and it handles nicer. Can't wait to see how it does with FLM TVP's.
