I've never used parma masks and have always done stuff free hand or used normal tape offs, so I'm curious how a parma mask works. I've actually never even seen one..lol.. How do they work? Does it go on the inside or outside? Whats steps does a person take to paint them? Paint the images 1st of last or what. Paint over the image after it dries? This is probley a dumb question, but Like I said I've never seen them or even used them. Thanks~Andy

I had this in the body shop thread with no responces so I figured Id try it here.

No worries bro, I usually pick up a parma or xxx main paint mask before I paint a body. I am working on a jaws theme right now we will see how it works out though. Newayz to answer your question they go on the inside of the body and adhere to the lexan. Well you just wind up painting right over them with no worries at all.

PS when working with any sort of internal graphic before paint use a hair dryer to apply them this will ensure that no paint gets under them. Also while using the hair dryer press down on them firmly with a thumbnail or something.

Also, Make very sure that the paint is dry. Don't rush it, or the paint might come off with the mask.

I like to let it dry over night.

Cool thanks guys. one more question. When you paint them, u let the image dry then paint right over it once its dried?

Your talking about a mask right?
If yes, You stick the mask on the car, Lets say flames. paint the car with the mask on, let it dry fully.
After that, peel off the mask, and paint the flames.
Always paint your darker colors first, then lighter colors after that.
The dark colors will bleed through a lighter color.
Say if you painted something white, then painted red on top of the white, Wa la, Pink!
dark first.
