Here's by far my best paint job ever. It leaves a little to be desired, but I'm very happy with it. I'll be doing more as time goes on.

you nailed it man. as far as realism, that is about as close as you could get to the paint jobs on those old square bodies!
 
Next time I'll paint right after the masking. I waited a few days and the pactra tape got a bit less tacky. I pressed it down again but there are some bleeds here and there.....oh well.
 
Oh it'll get beat up no doubt. I guess I just can't get over how hard it is to mask the inside of a body. Its weird I'm used to masking real cars...much easier.
 
I would ditch that Pactra tape. That stuff is horrible IMO. Your truck looks pretty good though for sure. For straight striping and/or lines I recommend good ole pinstriping tape. 3M is the better than the stuff you'll find at Autozone.
 
I agree 3m is great stuff. I should've stuck with what I already know. I was not impressed with that pactra stuff at all.
