Question for you paint gurus: What do you use to protect your paint jobs from rubbing? I've been using shoe-goo to coat the underside of my race bodies which seems to work really well (strengthens the body too) but I've noticed that occasionally I'll get bubbles from the paint pulling free (though the shoe-goo keeps it from rubbing off/flaking away). Is it because I'm not putting on light coats (race lid=rattlecan) and getting good adhesion of paint? I know I'm putting it the paint down thick, but they *are* race lids.... I'd assume so but just in case, is there something else you guys would recommend using to protect the paint job?
Usually I don't care much since I expect a race lid to get beat up but I've got a really sweet lid being done for me and I want to keep it in as good as condition as possible. If I could encase it diamonds I would *grin*
I'm not the fastest racer on the track but damn I'll look good
