Wondering if anyone has attempted and type of effect when painting a lexan body. If so post your picks and the process how it's done. I'm curious. I've done painting before like the marble effect and the brushed aluminum effect but since these bodies you paint them inside out it's abit of a reverse process. Just curious before i start mine. THANKS

You need to be more specific if the guys are going to help you. What effect?
Check out 2 the stickys at the top. Some good info.

Beleive me i saw every pic in the body shop section nothing i was looking for thats why i asked. I'm going to let my creativity get the best of me. I'll post up some pics of what i do. When i said effect i meant like "marble" or "brushed aluminum".:hehe:

Yeah, but would it work with how lids are painted?

Hrm, may need to bust out a soda bottle..

This is what i was thinking. Did do some practice on a flat peice of lexan. Now what i did was i got some candy red sprayed a light coat on the lexan, while the paint is still wet i got a plastic bag placed it over the wet red candy. Then i removed the bag, thus removing some of the red paint leaving a marble effect. Then i sprayed a heavy coat of silver, and backed that with some black. Now on the other side of the lexan i got a cool looking marble effect. I think I'm going to try to paint my new lid in that sequence but with three different colors. Will post picks when i get done.

OKay I'm almost done with my lid. It was a simple design but these are the effect i was looking for.

Hey, that's a pretty nice effect! Did you try it with newspaper instead of a plastic bag to get a larger marbling effect? I'd think the newspaper would "grab" more than the plastic

Pretty cool. I misunderstood your original question. I thought you were already checked out on the marble effect. Anyway, here are a couple examples of mine:

No problem, we'll gladly help ya out if we know exactly what you are looking for.

So what brush are you looking at getting? I absolutely love my Iwata HP-CS. I would recommend a gravity feed brush no matter what brand you decide on. You can paint with as little as a few drops of paint, which is great for shading and small areas, you don't waste a bunch of paint.

The iwata is what i was thinking. I heard nothing but good things about that. Yeah the gravity feed is what i had in mind.
