I have some bald chassis I would like to paint black......any hints .
My plan was to clean and sand them and then paint them with a flat stove paint...its heat ressitant and creates the base I am looking for.

Any experience....am I crazy? Other methods.:ponder2:

Thanks for you feedback.

i got mine anodized black, it looks very nice.

Anodize....I think the paint would come off way too easy, you should anodize the aluminum chassis. Here is a link with some pics of the finished result at the end, the company does good work, I am sure you will be happy if you go that route, I can't even give a ballpark figure, never had any done myself, but it would be the best want to go for al.

I have painted a chassis before and it turned out fine. I used automotive paint that was rated for 500 deg. The problem was it was on a RC10GT so the paint on the underside of the chassis didnt last long, I dont think you would have a problem witht the Revo chassis since no part comes in contact with the ground.

Anodizing is cool also but I have found that getting somthing anodized cost's more then the object itself.

Thanks guys....I will look at both options....its for a shelf queen so looks are more important than function......

I can't believe I just said that...;)

I have to take a warm bath in that. No poop TalonOne, and no hard feelings ;o)
Pure chrome my man, pure chrome!!!
For some undisclosed reason I was thinking about the same thing...
Something that would look nice with an internal blue lighting system maybe?
Nope, I'm a customer for that too, any research would be appreciated!

Kinda reminds me.......

Yea RevoMe I am a sucker for both a durable basher....and something nice to look at.

Kinda like when you search for a wife...except in this case its two different money pits....in the case of a wife.... she just hits you up twice as much .....depending which bitch she is that day.....:p:

Hey Talon I was just thinking have you ever thought of polishing that bad boy up.

Just a thought.

How about black powder-coat, Talon? Another option that is popular with 1:1 off-road enthusiasts is Rhino Lining.

If ya go with paint, be careful what kind you use.
Don't just go to wallyworld and pick up something you think will work.
I made that mistake on a plane. Buddy of mine told me Rustoleum was fuelproof. Used it on the front part. Now I have a gummy mess and need to get it off.

From now on it will only be some sold in a hobby shop that says it's fuelproof. I used this brand on a cowl once. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0091p?&C=RHQ&V=TOP Lasted as long as the plane did. (was actually about 3 years) Say it will work on aluminum.

Good luck with it. Let us know what ya go with and how it turns out.

LOL... My wife bought the one I made a shelfqueen...
Still have the other one too, remember?

I have a powder coating system and did the chassis for a USA-1 Nitro Crusher that came out really nice! If you consider going the power coat route, I'll be happy to shoot it for you, just send the chassis out and I'll take care of it!
