OK during wilma I had stuff to play w/ ...seeing as how our hobby runs on 12VDC for the most part I still enjoyed myself.....BUT.....I ran my P5 over a gallon and didn't change my filter  ....anyway when I finally did remember to do it I noticed a lot of crud in the carb throat, caked on and all.....oshit......I tore it all down last night inspected it and it looks fine...still has awsome compression after 6 gallons now I ran and I don't know how many slothy put on it before me.....the head button has 3 dimples in it and I'm not sure if those need ot face a specific direction....I don't think it would make a difference since the plug sits in the dome and really needs even distribution on ignition.....do I need to put those in any specific direction for any reason????? and anybody know what size and thread screws those mills use?? I want to change em all from flatheads to allen heads....
thanks

3.5mm cap head machine screws are what you need for the head, and 2.5mm x 8mm cap head machine screws for the backplate, and if you want to do the carb pinch bolt you need a 2.5mm x 20mm cap head machine screw.

I'm not sure about the head button though. I don't think it would make much of a difference as long as it seats well.

Hey Plaid if you need some 2.6 x 8mm backplate screws LMK, I just bought a package and have lots of extras.

The head screws should be between 15-16mm long. Factory screws are 16mm but 15mm length is easier to find.

Sounds good.

I just broke down my 5-gallon Picco 26 because my air filter popped off during an extended dirt main. Pics here.

SD, thanks.....I'm going to stop at the LHS today and see if I can just pick some up....there's a specialty bolt shop on the way I'll probably check first though......I have it all torn down on my bench in a pickle solution til I get the screws....it was a real PITA getting to those head screws w/ aflathead.....
VB thanks for the list....I printed it out....hmmm maybe if I was smart I'd call ahead and have the stuff ready for me right????

I know I can look this up but one of techno geeks knows it so I'll ask here....
P5 carb settings???
LSN 2out, HSN 4 out? it's the older one w/ the 3 needles so I need MSN settings too....

Damn Ross looks like we both had good luck w/ dirt getting in and not trashing it......I thought for sure I was screwed.....How's your's

After I finished my main I found my Motorsaver bouncing around on my spur gear. I shut the motor and noticed that my carb slide was sticking. I could see dirt in the carb. When I broke the motor down I found a little dirt in the carb and some dirt in the hollow crank passage. I did not find any other signs of dirt. The rest of the motor looks practically brand new and I have tons of pinch left. There are no scratches in the piston, sleeve, and crank. I got very lucky. Sounds like you also got lucky.

yea ross.. the dirt "sand blasted" it thats why it looks new!!! :jk: glad both of you made it through your air filter loss.. I'm glad I've never had that problem..

I never lost mine....I just ran it too long onthe one I had on it......and it never even looked dirty...I know I lucked oout big time....I have like 5000 of those lil zipties....I just zip it every time I put it on.....

P5 stock carb settings are...5 1/2 out on LSN and 3 1/2 out on HSN.And I just found that info out on the s-grid.

Well I just hope my rod doesn't give up on me after I put the pinched p/s back in it.

Lets not let this thread get derailed again.
If you need to continue with the crap that started here, It's in the FFA forum.
Thanks.

CHOO-CHOO MOFOs......
I need the washer size for the little ones under clutch shoes on the Flywheel post..I'm going to try aluminum shoes and 1.o springs.....but I lost all my washers......sorry I asked this question in another post before, In the Xray thread.....
