good morning everyone. after not running my radioshack hummer in about a week i decided to take the battery out the the thing. the stupid thing wouldnt come out. both male and female ends of the battery connectore broke. while closer looking at the damage it lookes like they melted and fused together. that sucks. now i have nothing to do until i either get off my but and take the bus to the hs and get some ignitor plugs for my nrs4mt or go and get deans o replacement plugs. last time i mess with radio shack.

IMO they charge those outrageous prices for those crap X-Mods and Zip-Zaps things... that is just robery. I can see wal-mart or some other chain selling that crap, but Radioshack used to have good stuff. They used to pre-order new R/Cs and games, but now it has gone down the drain.

Sorry to hear about toy man, I hate that kinda crap.

Welll sounds like your toasty Hummer had faulty connectors. These toys should have a 90 day warranty, bring it back and they should exchange it(if no mods were done).

The garbage Tamiya style connectors have too much loss and this can result in arcing and the problem you have.I cut all Tamiya connectors and replace them on the spot with Deans Ultraplugs.

i wasn't all to mad. i just wanted to run it out on the snow today and couldnt because of that. i going to put some deans on it. i can't return it because i cut the springs glued and cut the tires. but its all good i still like this truck for what it is.

The connectors on my Mini-t fried.
Deans are the best. Good choice.

Deans are not the best, but they are easy to get, inexpensive and perform great.Plus Deans hold up to big mean brushless amp draw, try this with a cheapie Tamiya style conectors, instant fusion. :hehe:

I have a a set of Astro Flight connectors in a box, they are rated at even higher current, useless in anything besides record setting electric boats and big electric planes. And in that case better solder direct to leave nothing to chance.

any thing that is not a hobby RC is for kids.

wallmart and radioshack rc are crap. thay ony go like 5mph wow that is fun.

thats why you mod the crap out of the $20 - $40 Rc with like a 8t moter and a good speed contral and watch as that radioshack rc hit 50mph and the trans and ever thing else gets wasted. :wasted:

I'm going to try that!:wasted:

Yes CrapMart and RatShack RC are crap, but it is what gets most anj easy...slow start and a great platform to make mistakes and not have to buy parts one after the other.

These crap RC's got me started and now I have the best O the best what the RC world has to offer. Those who start with the top of the line RC often have little to no experience and break parts like they were driving them in a blender rather than on a normal surface.

Well the R.S. stuff may be crap by comparison to higher end RC's, but nearly all high end RC's come with these ame Tamiya connectors so you'd be having the same problem and need to replace them as everyone says.

And any serious RC user WILL replace the POS standard connectors. With use the Tamiya style connectors become more and more slack and will end up arcing. And nobody uses these in high power apps when serious current needs to flow.

Not the toys at the Rat Shack are so power hungry, simply a faulty conector and you ahve problems.

i agree about me just getting bad plugs because i dont think this thing makes that much power to damage the plugs. i am still going to use deans though.
