hey guys. i noticed the other day a vibrating noise coming from my motor. sounded sorta like a head bolt that wasn't threaded at all just vibrating between the cooling fins. so i checked the fins. none are broken, checked the bolts they all look fine and tight, took off the back plate and the OWN shaft has around 0.5mm play moving in and out. from memory it didnt have that much play when i first put it all together. now i think the vibrating noise is that shaft moving around. is there anything i can do about shimming it etc? i dont want to put a shim in there and it wears down and goes through the motor and breaks something.

ps there is no play side to side with the shaft, just in and out.

You need a little end play or something would wear out.
If you have no side play, chances are it’s not the starter shaft making the noise. Check the rear bearing...

hrmmm, engine isnt that old. but i have a new set of bearings, ill sus it out in next few days, getting it all ready to put the lrp 28 in it atm so the trx3.3 can wait :P
