Hi everybody, got questions...Doin my break in on my Q%$#!#$ savage x and it keeps overheating (270\300) i keep richin it up but it does'nt do anything...and it does'nt shift into the holy moly 2nd gear. I BEG YOU PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME !!!!THANKS

if it's overheating like that, your low end needle is WAY too lean. Richen that puppy up about 1/8th to a quarter turn, and adjust the idle stop screw accordingly.

:thankyou: once again...thank you heartbreak !!

Could also be an air leak. Might want to seal up the motor. Also, if you're doing break-in, usually the motor will be too rich to get enough speed to shift.

Get the temps under control, finish break-in then worry about the shift. Maybe when you lean it out some it will get the proper speed for shifting or you may have to adjust the trans for the shift,

sorry got an other question...

I might sound like a 'dingdong' but what do you mean seal up the engine?? AND after how many tanks do you would say that your break-in is pretty much done ? I just finished my tank number 9.THANKS

9 tanks with a fuel tank the size of the savages' is probably more than adequate. If your temps go down after richening up the low end needle, then I'd focus on the high end needle. Once you get a good tune on that, then re-adjust the low end needle.

After all that's done, if it's still not shifting, then you may have to take a 2.5mm allen wrench and adjust the shift point screw in the trans.

COOL!!! thanks alot and sorry about my rookie questions .Til next time

buddies 4.6 had a major airleak, well it was half our fault.

put a used LC# plug in it, and the copper washer was a bit worked, leaked like crazy, wouldnt hold a tune for anything.

so check all your areas where the engine fits to something else and what not

Thanks for everybody's help, will check that out this week...can't wait til i dont sound like a beginner, and ask stupid questions

no viable R/C related question is stupid, may have been asked a 1000 times already (search for super charrger, nos, and revo vs savage) but the guys on this forum are top notch and will help anyone as much as possible as long as they are trying to understand.

sounds like your well on your way to enjoying that new savage!! keep us updated!
