i just got my t maxx and yesterday it was running great. today i tried to take it out and as soon as i started it it just stayed put and all of a sudden it goes full throttle without me doing anything and i hit the brakes but it just kept going it's done this every time i start it up. any hints on what this might be would be greatly appreciated.

always check for interference!!! Also make sure your antenna is fully extended before starting. My next questing is, have the electronics of the car come in contact with water at all? Remember you can't just wash your truck with soap and water.

Sounds like a battery or frequency problem. Most of the time if its the frequency it wont just stay at full blast it will move around but never know. Do you have a failsafe? If not pick one up cause if your batteries die your goin full blast into a tree.

or on to a busy street and get ranover:angry:

it could be from the electronic's getting wet or it could be due to viberation's. check and see if it does it with the engine off. It could be interference from another source. how old is the t-maxx?

or it will just take off and hit a curb 100 ft away and flip upside and by the time u get to it the motor blows up yes not so fun, get a failsafe anyways

uh oh. u should try and get a different crystal 4 the radio sounds like interferince. and if u in the feild and it goes full throttle turn off the transmitter its supposed to put the brakes on if u have no signal

lol i have and old school .15 which has been upgraded now and i have been having the same problem every once in a while. I'm in the air force and am living very close to the base which i know has quite an array of crazy interference and mine reacts to it every once in a while. yesterday mine took off across the street blasted the curb did like a tripple gainer landed on the wheels kept goin into some ladys flower bush and demoed it. surprisingly there was no damage. so check whats in your area that could put off signals and also i'd say def check out the fail safe or throttle return spring

A throttle return spring will also help prevent the 'runaway'. The fail-safe is the best protection, but you really should have both, unless you like paying for repairs;). I think a return spring costs a buck or two and you get a couple per pack.
