so i have enough old stock tmaxx parts sitting around to build another one. i have a 2.5 motor with only a few tanks ran through it and an os .15cvx with slide carb that is wasted. i read somewhere that putting an os carb on the traxxas 2.5 would make a nice improvement over the the stock traxxas carb. anyone know which os carb is used for this? the carb off my os seems to fit on the 2.5. I'm wondering if this is the carb used in this conversion or if it will work and make and improvement.

I have never done it, but when it comes to switching carbs, i would think it would mostly matter weather or not the engine was the same size, if they are both .15 slide carbs, i would think an ok, but never done it so can't say from experience...:)

If the carb fits the bore correctly, it should work just fine. The main thing is getting a proper seal so that it doesn't allow for air to seep in.

I say try it out. you could be the first!

My only experience with this subjuct is this...
An o.s. carb is a better unit because the low speed needle controls more of the off idle to mid range vs a TRX carb that quickly pulls out the LSN, switching to HSN metering. giving the TRX engine its notorious bog.

try it and let us know!
