Well in the manual it say mid needle is .5 turns in from flush, I have not touched it when running, but did back out to flush and count the turns its about 1.5 turns in. Is it normal for this setting on the mid needle ? I was told to leave it alone and plan on it but should it be set at factory setting (which is now) or to manual settings? Thanks for the help this is only my second nitro engine and am not great at tuning

I never touched mine, try it both ways and see what happens. Tell us how it goes.
Mine was like the manual says.
Be careful running the MSN in, you can damge it if it runs into the LSN. The LSN sits inside the MSN/spraybar until you get past 1/4 throttle.
I ran mine on 30% fuel with a THS pipe. The engine was set perfect from the factory. I did not touch a thing on it for a while.

Well I have not touched it and seems to run fine and have had lots of people tell me to leave it so I think I will. Thanks

I just bought the OS .21 TM and out of the box the HSN was 2 1/8 turns out from bottom, LSN was flush, MSN was 1/2 turn out from flush, and the Throttle stop needle was set .8mm on the motor I got. Now I did find it odd that you can not rotate the crank all the way around on this one. The piston sticks at TDC, Top dead center. I did see some videos where they take a heat gun and heat up the head to 200 degrees before starting. Maybe to get it to expand to get the full rotation? I have been doing RC off and on for many years but only electric. This time around is my first time with Nitro, older and have more money to spend. I bought a traxxas revo 3.3 and did the brake in the way the book/traxxas stated. I have great luck with that motor, and have about 6-7 gallons of fuel through it now. I made that revo a crawler, and the OS .21 is for it. I just bought an other revo 3.3 (going to be a speed runner) I will put the crawler 3.3 motor in it and save the new 3.3 for later on when the first one dies. lol.

I have been reading and watching videos on brake in on the OS .21 and looking for posts on here.

I hope those setting help any one else looking for factory settings on this motor.

Good luck to you all.

P.S. I attached the pdf on manual that came with the motor for any one who needs it.

That is an expensive engine ,you should heat the engine up before you start it ,they have a very tight pinch
an it is hard on them to do a cold start!..😎
