High speed needle 3 turns out from closed
Low speed needle turn mixture control valve flush with the carburetor body then turn in excatly 1 turn(clockwise)
these are standard factory settings, good luck!

Thanks.

That's about where they are now. The thing is the engine hits top speed at 3/4 throttle. If the carb slide is opened 100% the engine will cut out. I tried richening the LSN and it didn't help. Is this characteristic of this carb? I don't see why the slide shouldn't completely clear the carb body. Any clue as to why this is doing this? Aside from the way it's set right now, the truck really runs well.

well,It could be a few different things, If the engine is cutting out a 3/4 throttle, its sucking too much fuel(rich) but , you already know this so read on and see if any of this helps!
when you take off the filter and look into the carb how close are the needle settings, if the gap is alot thicker than a credit card thats too much, close them a little, this is a very touchy setting, it helps to look at it while your turning the screw,

Is your throttle linkage set corectly?
Is your servo set corectly?
what radio are you using? can this adjustment be way out of whack on the radio? and can it be adjusted by the radio?

take the ball off the carb slide and see if you can move the slide in and out all the way manually
If you can its most likley the throttle linkage.
your needle stop screw is at the bottom of the carb and can be hard to see sometimes, although I doubt that this could be the problem its worth a check.

BTW I also own this mill and it runs extremely well at 2 turns out and still blows alot of blue trail! I can't see your problem so its hard to try and help, but the things I listed would be good to check anyway,
I'm sure if you come back to this thread in a day or two some one will have posted more helpful info, If you are new here, welcome to the site! good luck again!

and what excatlly do you mean by this? is the slide stopping at 3/4 throttle?

In my prior post I meant HSN not LSN. The carb is functioning properly, linkage is OK, servo is working properly. Originally when I got the truck the radio was set to limit the throttle to 50%, Fatuba Magnum Jr.

3/4 throttle - If I limit the throttle with the radio the engine seems to run fine, carb slide only open 3/4 of the way. If I allow the slide to open 100% the engine will eventually die at WOT. It just might be that it is running too rich, I'll try 2 turns out and see what happens.

Is this at idle or WOT:

"when you take off the filter and look into the carb how close are the needle settings, if the gap is alot thicker than a credit card thats too much, close them a little, this is a very touchy setting, it helps to look at it while your turning the screw,"

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by how close are the needle settings.

Thanks for your input.

how much of a gap do you have between needle and end stop is what I meant.
