Ok I got a OS 18tm for pretty cheap. Motor is basically new beyond break in. But what I was wondering is will the header I am using with my CVEC pipe work on the OS. As the one I am using on the TM is a bolt on. Can I use some orange RTV and seal it that way and use a spring to hold it as well.

Or does any one know of a header that will exit center rear off of the OS engine. Below is a link to my tmaxx with the header that is in place

I guess I didn't word it right. Will the header that works on the 2.5 work with the OS engine. As the traxxas header has bolts that fasten it to the engine. The OS engine uses a spring to fasten it. I seen those gaskets but most topics I read on this subject say get the OS header. But its a 90 bend for a side exhaust much like the factory t-maxx. I don't use the factory. I use a rear exit CVEC pipe. The hole for the header is in the center of pipe so no way to side mount it.

My advise: Loose the CVEC rear pipe and get the correct header for the TM and a good tuned pipe.

thanks snook man for the input. I might just go that route. But it was nice that the tmaxx stayed clean with the rear exhaust.
