Has anybody had fuel coming out of the slide valve on their os.18tm's? I bought one about 2 months ago and after break in I noticed fuel coming out there and performance just did'nt seem right. I called OS and they agreed something was'nt right, send it in and they would take care of it. They ended up sending me a brand new engine. While that was going on I ordered another .18tm for my other Revo. I have both of them in and broke in now and they both have fuel leaking out of the slide valve. Niether one one will shift into 2nd unless I lean it out until temps are around 250-260. Anybody else had any problems like this?

I never have with an OS engine. I did with the stock trx 2.5 engine, but all my os engines never did that.

Design flaw?

What fuel/oil content are you running? I run trinity MHP 20% w/ 12% oil.

The TM comes with one year warranty. You should try to get a replacement :)

I've ran ODonnel and traxxas top fuel 20%. I've really questioned my temp gun but its right on with boiling or ice water. I'm thinking I've got to be doing something wrong with 3 OS engines and 3 of the same problems. Its not a lot of fuel but you can definatly see where its coming out of. I've also been leaning out in very small increments (1/16) turns.

Its actually a 2 year warranty but something just does"nt seem right. Three engines , three of the same problems that nobody else has?

I'm really starting to question my placement of my temp gun. For some reason I've always held it pretty close to touching the top of the cooling head. Measurement seemed pretty eratic but I could always get the highest temp that way. Tonight I kept it about 2 inches from the top of the cooling head and temps were stable at about 230. I also kept checking it at the place where you would mount an on board temp sensor and it was about 220-230. I've got a good smoke trail and some unburnt fuel coming out the exhaust, so mabye I was making something out of nothing. I still don't understand the fuel at the slide valve. I would think that if there was a bad fit there it would be sucking in air instead of letting fuel out.

I always point mine at an angle about an inch or so from the head down in the glowplug area. I point at an angle to sense the temp right where the exhaust port is. I've read that that spot is the hottest.

What kind of temp gun do you have?
