Opti drive

Does the opti drive device make the tranny shift gears? I just figured out tonight that I have a bad one and it was causing my throttle servo to not act right.

No it doesn't. But if you're looking for advice, install forward only in your truck. It eliminates the opti-drive alltogether. I installed it on mine. Took the reverse right out. Optidrive comes out too. I'm hitting second gear no prob.

The opti drive system is supposed to keep you from shifting into reverse while your moving forward, which would totally grenade your tranny

The opti drive is useless, even with reverse. It should be obvious enough that your truck needs to be stopped when shifting. If not, it will be after rebuilding the tranny. Foc is where it's at. Tougher tranny and smoother, faster acceleration.

Ordered Foc this weekend. Any secrets to installing it? I have never had the tranny apart. :whhooo:
