I have a buddy who has been racing for many years... He is a die hard OPS fan. Wont run anything else.

Apparently he has never had the problems that others speak of, and wont hear it if you try to say anything to him.

So, what do you guys think about OPS? I've never seen one in action till today. I'm going to a race and we'll see whats up.

I can get the UltraTorque with tuned pipe and header for $250, so its not a bad deal but I've never heard anything good about them...and nothing comparable in the price range.

Any suggestions or ideas?

They made really good engines back in the day. Did car, boat and planes. Don't know about now though. The OPS engine site is down. Try to find some folks that run them and go from there.
By the way, what size is this engine. You didn't say.

I just got back from the run today. That OPS engine romped! I was very impressed.

Its a .21 3.5cc engine... Had a nice steady plume of smoke, running about 220 F and loud as hell. A very nice running engine.

I am going to get one me thinks... for 250 bucks for everything, can't go wrong for a nice race motor... Gonna see some more runs and then decide for sure.

I had an OPS .15 in my RC10GT a while back ago and wasn't too happy with it. It liked to run hot, and seemed to develop airleaks several times at the backplate. This was my only one, and my only experience so it may have just been a bad one. It was also when I was still relatively new to rc nitro cars so it could have been me too. Just thought you might want a report from another person who had one.

Yea I do actually, thanks for the input.

Actually, I've heard nothing but bad things about them, except from my buddy and until I came out here to Europe...

Everyone domestic says stay away from them, but out here where they arent that out of place people love em...

So I'm indifferent at the moment... Thanks for your input though. You ever seen anyone at the track running one?

What is the engine people like to run most? RB, Novarossi? Those seem to be the favorite everywhere I look, but damn they are expensive...

OPS Rules!!!

I got to say somthing about OPS. I'm Nitro_Keeblers bud and I am here to say OPS ROCKS.
I know I am the only person who likes them but bang for the buck their aint nothing that can beat it. RB, Rossi, Sirrio all of them.
I have had OPS .12, .15 and .21 no problems whats so ever. I aint saying the other brands suck but when you find something you like.... stick to what you know. That is what it is all about. I like to be different.
