A buddy at work wants to sell his Savage to me, he used it a few times and lost interest. He said he's done a few upgrades, but that's all the info he's given, along with two pictures.

I'll see it tomorrow, but wanted your guys opinions on it. Not sure exactly what it is, I'm a TMAXX guy.

He's asking $200, comes with receiver and spare parts.

Beware, these pics are awful.

In all seriousness..if I plan to buy a used rig I figure into pricing that there isnt an engine, just because, hulk is right in the ballpark

That's what I was figuring, I'll see if I can talk him down a little. Hopefully I'll get to see it tomorrow.

Even if he isnt a buddy any legit man would let you run it, given that he is a buddy he should have it all ready to rip when you get there, imo

Just keep in mind those older HPI Savage rigs don't bring much money used anymore. I have a buddy selling one local for $200.00 and it has a brand new OS.30 VG engine in it and the upgraded 3 speed. He has more than what he is asking in the engine alone and its on the first gen savage x chassis. And it is very clean!

I bought it, its not too bad.

Got a ton of stuff with it. 5 glow plug igniters, two remotes, one being an ancient Futaba MS T2PH that came with two servos and a receiver, and a box full of extra parts. The Savage also has hitech servos, so I think it'll be a good start.

Ill post some pics when I get it cleaned up.

If I were to ever purchase a used vehicle, it would be a Savage due to the platform and availability of parts. Assuming it's modern in decent shape, you can turn that into an animal for a few hundred bucks.
