Actually I didnt do anything too major. Was just out bashing abit with the savy and trying to get used to asphalt driving (moved to where there's no tracks, go figure). Well I was pulling some nice wheel stands and showing off for the kids when I flipped it on it's lid. Needless to say, I snapped the antenna tube and ripped off the antenna wire. Can any wire be used for the antenna? Or is that something special? The LHS has wire for $4, but if I can goto to local parts store and get it by the foot, it would be allot cheaper and I could get extra should this happen again. Thanks in advance.

*EDIT* Did some research and have concluded that a piece of standard 24 guage wire will work. However, I can't seem to find out how long of a piece I need. Can somebody tell me how long the wire should be?

Thanks again

This happened to me recently, I think length doesn't matter, longer the better. It should only make the reception between the radio and reciever better.

you should be able to get the correct size wire from the lhs. the best way to do it is to unsolder whats left from the board and put on a new one. just make sure its the same length it was originaly.

Well i went through my old parts box and found a old Futaba receiver that I had. So I took a stab at my first soldering job and unsoldered the antenna wire and placed it onto my Savy receiver. Funny thing is, it's the same guage but about an inch shorter, yet I seem to be getting better signal. Go figure, LOL. Anyhow, it's back together and working. Thanks everyone.
