I just got a T-Maxx from a friend. Spent the past couple days just getting it running and now that I have it running it will only go in reverse. When I put the truck in forward and give it gas it just spins. I am assuming that I have a burnt gear somewhere. Does anybody have have another idea before I start tearing it apart.

Thanks

sounds like bad bearings or a bad gear, i took one of those gearboxes apart not to long ago, be carefull there are a lot of pieces in there that have to line up just rite...

i'd suggest try cranking it again, and let it "IDLE" and manually move the arm in both directions waiting a couple times each and giving it gas..

mine is a little tough to get to change gears....

Could be that it has the Forward Only Conversion and that the servo is either wired in reverse or that the set-point is backwards. If you have servo reversing move it the other direction and that MIGHT be it--but I doubt it. Just something to check out...

Thanks for the responses. I ended up pulling the thing apart. On the rod holding the forward and reverse gears the black pawl gears little mettle rod things looked to be stuck in and were not coming out and catching when accelerating. Flipped the two parts around so now I wont have reverse until I get the replacement part.

kind of hard to describe parts look like

Thanks again
