Wondering which way the one way is installed on shaft? Writing on bearing facing out or vica versa? Or does it even matter. My problem is when I use the easy starter it some times spins and then eventually grabs. I did get a new one but wanted to be sure before installation... Thanx.

Look at the old one before you remove it.
I would first just spray the old one down with motor cleaner or DA. 99% of the time the bearing isnt shot, just oil soaked.

When it's on the shaft it should spin freely counterclockwise and offer resistance clockwise, this is while looking at the engine from the rear.

Mr T

When installed on shaft, the lettering is facing in.

When installed on EZ or pull-start, the lettering is facing out.

Hope that help.

Thanx. I guess I could of just hooked up my starter motor just to figure out which way it spins and juiced it a couple of times. Thanx. It now works fine...
