Is anyone else having trouble with the one way bearing on there .26 picco? Mine was slipping after only a few tanks so I took it apart an cleaned it, same poop. I just bought a new one last week and now it's slipping again!! How can I keep this bearing from slipping? Thanks for your time and help!!!!

do you have excessive fuel leakage out of the backplate because the fuel will cause it to slip

The 1 way in a picco 26 is inside the backplate (not in the PS like most engines).

Pee Wee, mine slipped some today when I was starting it up for the first time in over 2 months. Then it started catching fine. Then it got stuck (engaged) and I had to pull the whole mill and remove the PS to get at the starter shaft to crack it loose. That was a pain.

Some oil is essential for the 1 way to operate correctly. If there's no oil on it, it won't work right. If there's some kind of contamination in it, it won't work right. I'd hose it out with nitro cleaner and put some after run oil in it and see how it works. The fuel should replace the after run oil when running it and it should work ok. One last question, are you using a roto start?

No error I do not have the roto start. I just pull away on the rope. The dam thing is starting to get under my skin. Domination, everything is fine, no leaks on the back plate.

1-ways are just a pain in the butt we have to deal with cause makers know as long as they can sell them at 10.00 & up a pop why improve them. There weak---period! plastic inner cage & all. Plus most come pressed into another part so the r/c makers get there fare share of the gold mine. I'm going to talk to Boca Bearing & see what they say. They make just about the best bearings made. What helps a little is don't pull the cord out all the way. Use short quick pulls & if your engine is tuned right it should lite up right away. Most 1-way bearings used in r/c trucks are made by 1 manufacture in Germany so check the code on the lip of the bearing itself. I'm using a Savage 1-way in my D.D. & my XTM 24.7 engine uses the same bearing. A-Roto-Start will make the 1-way short lived for sure. The bearing just plain isn't made to handle the torq of the Roto-Start-Period. Anyone who says it is, is probably the bearing maker or the supply houses. This bearing shouldn't cost 10.00 +. Its made for about 50 cents & just keeps going up till its in your hands, "thank you big brother". I found if you loosen the glow plug 1/2 turn when starting your engine it'll still start, then just retighten. This bleeds off some compression
