Hi All

I have a Maxx I bought in Feb. It has been running great until this last weekend. I was running wide open and it just died and would not start. I took the motor apart and could not find any visible problems so I put it back together and it started right up. I ran a few tanks of gas though it but it seemed slow and then quit running again. This time when I pulled the motor apart the one way bearing was frozen to the crankshaft. I managed to get the bearing off. Today I purchased a new bearing and installed it. The truck ran great for about two tanks of gas then died again. Guess what the new bearing is frozen to the crank again.

Anyone have any idea what may be causing this? The truck is stock except for a different cooling head and I am running an 18tooth pinion gear. I also have the trany set to shift quicker because of the lower gearing.

Thanks in advance for any advice

Mark

i put a new one way in my maxx and i was haveing the same problem but then i put just a little bit of grease in it and now it works fine no problems now try it see if it works

Get a new bearing and look at the shaft that the bearing goes over and see if it is worn or heavely scratched if it is that can hurt the bearing, take some WD40 and sprey the bearing really good and then put some light oil on the shaft and bearing, Bearing oil or 3 in 1 will work good.

Stubborn Starter

I have a Savage 25, and today I was running it through some damp grass, and dirt. I shut it off for a moment ( had to take a leak) then when i tried to start her back up again, I tried the rotostarter it spun a couple of times, and got really stiff....so I stopped immediatly, took out the glow plug, checked it, drained any excess fuel from engine, and tried again....still it spun a few times, and then the rotostart got really stiff....so I sprayed WD-40 around the area where the shaft goes and let it sit for a moment....then tried again...same problem....but it let it spin a few more times...could it be that I got some dirt in the one way bearing?? Should I take it all apart...Not 100% sure on how to get it apart if that's the case....but I really want it fixed!....any suggestions would be great.

I apologize your majesty. I searched for one way bearing...this is the thread that I got. It won't happen again today...I promise.

Gease Worked

I just wanted to let everyone know that putting grease on the bearing solved the problem. It ran great all weekend until the spur great stripped out. Time for a metal one.

Thanks for the help!
Mark

hey beetle i would rethik the metal spur thing
you need a week link somewhere and installing the metal spur will transfer the power right to the tranny and start tearing up inner gears ,
try kimbrough or recheck your mesh ,,
just my :2cents:
