i was out today taking my car on it usual coarse and it must have hit a rock or something and cartwheeled right into a big ol' pile of dirt. now she dont start at all. anyone have this same problem? or know what could have happened during its flight in the air that would make it not start?

Does it actually turn over?? if so when your turning it over is fuel heading into the carb through the lines?? does it sound like it wants to go or is it completely dead? If turning over and fuel going into motor I'd start by checking the plug + ignitor make sure coil is still intact and glowing brightly - thats what I'd start with but I'm still new if you check these and everything looks good wait for one of the guru's to check the post :) good luck!

as long as the glow plugs good, and its getting fuel and air, it should run. the MT's take hard hits and run fine. just check out the gas lines and make sure theres nothing blocking or clogging the air intake/filter. also check out the glow plug, make sure its good

the glow plug coil looks like it is leaning over to one side ( if that makes any sense ). but it does glow pretty bright. but this was an all day event i did today starting the car many times. I'm gonna try charging my ignitor and seeing if i can get it started tomorrow.

as for 2000deluxes questions, yeah it did turn over completely and then stay started for about 15-20 sec upside down. i flipped it over then it went dead soon after that. it doenst sound like it wants to start at all. and every thing is covered in dirt.

what could have happened during its flight in the air that would make it not start?

Whatever happened, didn't happen while it was in flight. More than likely it happened during the landing.
By "Turning Over" he means, does the engine spin.

Also, since you ran out of fuel after being on your lid, prime it to get fuel back to the carb.

I wouldn't use the plug like that it's possible the coil will fall out and damage piston etc - have yo got a spare??
I was meaning does the engine turn over i.e it's not fully locked up / seized from a bit of dirt being in moving parts, me thinks give it a clean for starters to make sure you don't gunk up clutch / gears and stuff then check fuel moves through lines when you turn it over on bump starter / pull pull start etc (unsure of car sorry) and check the airfilter / carb is clear of debris as bulldog said.
They can be temperamental huh! Mine has driven me nuts a few times :)

*******Damn slow connection

yeah i primed the engine after i tried to get it started again. didnt do anything....

as for turning over. yeah they engine still moves when i pull my starter string. but it just wont start up.

Pull the plug turn it upside down crank it and check it's not fully flooded?? Dunno mate loks like Rolex is on the case anyway so i'll bow out - page is updating VERY slowly anyway think it's telling me to go do some work :P

K he musta gone elsewhere, and I don't have much work on (damn systems only break when I am trgically hung over) I'd say if it's getting fuel and turning over OK then it has to be either the plug or the ignitor, is your ignitor a charge only one or can you swap out the battery? The only time i have had a real problem starting my engine (aside from first few tanks when it had rediculous amounts of compression) my ignitor was giving a flase full charge reading - sure enough after giving it a quick back-hand it went straight down to just above red, another guy at the track had a couple there and the engine started instantly with a fully charged ignitor.

****Speaking of compression - It is still making good compression huh?? From what i understand it's pretty new so should do but when you manually turn the flywheel with the glowplug in does it get quite difficult to turn at one point then easy then difficult etc

yeah the engine still gets compression. i do not have anything to clean the engine with and a thing of nitro clean cost 10 bucks at my LHS. is there anything else i could use.

my ignitor must be a cheapo. it has no way of telling that it has a full charge. there a red light on the box where it plugs into the wall but it always stays red, even when i charge it for 24 hours. ill just have to pick up a new glow plug tomorrow. does anyone know how much they cost online, cuz I'm sure that they are going to be outragous in my LHS

also one more thing about my car. it has a really crappy air filter. is there any options for some different ones?

motor saver

I've heard nothing but good things about Motor Saver filters, and they're not expensive. I use one on my maxx and now I won't use anything else. It improved my performance a lot! A good filter will save you hundreds in the long run.

where do you get them from? any site you know of where i can take a looksee?? or do i have to check out my LHS?

also i keep getting the K&N air filter message on the bottom of my screen. are they any that could fit a nitro carb?

the K&N are great on real cars, but not so good on RC's. The foam type like the motor saver filters work a lot better for getting the fine particles. The K&N might do ok on-road, but I know they're not good off-road so I would ask someone that does a lot of on-road stuff. You can check out towerhobbies or ebay to find the motor saver, I would think you could find one on ebay for around 10 bucks. Do you have air filter oil? I keep some extra filter elements clean and oiled, then when I'm out running my car I can just switch out and put a clean one in in about 1 minute instead of having to take it out, wash it, dry it, and oil it before I can run again.

i tried starting my car for the past hour. i still get nothing. it seems that fuel is spitting out from where the cooling head and block meet. i took it apart and cleaned it up real good but i still can't get it started. i have no extra money for a new glow plug but i check it out and it seems to still be glowing pretty brightly. any ideas why my car will not start??

The fuel that is spitting out of where the cooling head and case meet are not good. When you put the cooling head back on did you make sure that it was sitting flush on the case? if so did you tighten the head bolts down in a star pattern so that they were all even?

If you were going pretty fast when the crash happened and landed on the head just right you may have cracked it some where. Check for any leaks by plugging all the holes and blowing into the fuel intake with some fuel line under water.

Please don't think I'm trying to be mean or hurt your feelings because I'm not, and I am on a tight budget, but if you can't spend 3 bucks on a glow plug, I see in the future that you could destroy a motor or something buy not spending 2 bucks on a new filter. You should always try and save a lil money on the side for glow plugs, fuel, filters, stuff like that.

If a plug is all he needs, what kind does he need. If I have one, I'll send it to him. I've been in tight spots with money too. At least he's not on here begging for parts.

its says N3 on the side of the plug. I'm sure i could scrounge up 3 bucks from somewhere but my LHS is closed for vacation for the next 2 weeks when i tried to call them up to see if they could help me out with my problem. there are none close enough for me to talk to like that and buying e bay is killer with shipping charges
