Has anyone used the Venom Smart Temp Fail-safe ?

http://www.rcmodels.com/rc-models/ven0605.html

This seems like a great idea to me, or is this just another
gimmick item ? I don't race, just with my friends...

I have screwed up an engine in the past when the carb came
loose, leaned out the engine and the temp shot up, way up...

What do you guys think ?

Thanks valk for the review... I didn't realize how large it
was, still sounds pretty good...

Thats the green one with the snake on it? I just ordered one from my LHS for 10 bucks. the guy raved about it, I'm going to put it on my new RC10GT

Well, Venom makes several fail safes. This VST, and their basic fail safe. I got the VST for around $20 on ebay. The smallest, basic fail safe I have ever seen is the OFNA one. I have used that one, too. Very nice, easy to set. Dynamite makes one that is the size of the VST but is only a fail safe, and it's crap. Does not work with the Futaba 2pl AM or 3PM-FM radio. When you throttle up, it tries to close the carb slowly. It worked fine with my other futaba's, just not the computer-type futaba.

That's a good price for the VST... I've seen them listed for around $45...
Maybe I'll keep checking e-bay...
