Hello All,

I'm looking for a truck to play with my 2.5yo son. He already has a mini 2.0T brushed which he loves. I want a car so we can 'race'.

Been doing some research on Youtube and I am looking at an Rlaarlo omni terminator Carbon. I think it will run me close to $300 with a 3s battery.

Is the omni terminator good value for this price please? Should I be looking at something else in this price bracket please? We really just want to stand on the deck and do some racing around the back yard.

Thanks,

I've heard good things about the Omni Terminator.
That truck is on my list of RCs to get. :thumbs-up:

My concern with the Omni is parts support.
Ppl def had issues in the past. No idea if its been fixed.

The Arrma Granite is on sale @ amainhobbies for $299.

Parts are ultra cheap for Arrma @ jennysrc.com.
Also, Arrma parts are EVERYWHERE. Might be a better choice for a 'likely to crash' noob. 👍

I would personally save up another hundred and buy an Associated MT10.
Its a better truck than both of those BY FAR!!!
I haven't seen anyone complain about its durability.
There are a few builds here. A few ppl here own them so you can ask questions if you choose to go this route.

Good luck!!! 😎

Thanks a lot @CertifiedMike

This MT10 seem to be OOS everywhere. Is there a recommended place to get them. I was looking for a forum sponsor perhaps?

I was unaware of out of stock. Yeah, thats an issue!

Thats just like something I would do too! 🙄 Dangle a good RC and then yank it away last second like Lucy with Chatlie Brown's football! 😲😐

I will suggest waiting for a few only because AE is dropping a bunch of new RCs. An updated MT10 might be on the list.

Arrma might be a faster option than waiting for AE.

If I was looking at Arrma again, the Quake and the 4s or bigger would be my choices.
My 3s Granite breaks a lot. I don't really drive it anymore. I think the Granite would he fine for 2s but 3s just shreds itself.
Ppl say 4s arrma trucks are a lot tougher. I don't own one so can't say for certain.

I bought a Kyosho Mad Wagon to replace the Granite with. 😎👍😁

I have the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator Carbon and Metal versions; both are great cars and can be bought right now for $100 off msrp. I strongly recommend getting the higher end Carbon version because it has: a better radio system that includes voltage telemetry and gyro stabilization, a slightly better brushless motor and ESC, and CF plates screwed to the suspension arms that are supposed to make them stronger. For a starter car for a kid, I think this is VFM. Rlaarlo parts are available on Amazon but you can buy them cheaper directly from the Rlaarlo.com web site.
