I don’t post a lot but today the weirdest, most incredible, amazing and possibly the coolest thing happened, (In my opinion) after work I took my sav out for some lite bashing, I have this nice spot where a parking lot connects to a pretty thick wooded area, my point is that today as I had my sav haulin tail out of the wooded area onto the parking lot I pulled a u turn and started back towards the woods, sav started picking up speed when a freaking falcon yes a falcon! the bird of prey type falcon swooped down and tried to pick up my freakin sav!!! thinking it was going to have it for dinner I assume, well the freaking falcon literally grabbed onto the tire and tried flying away with it, it even managed to lift the rear end for a split second, but because the tire was spinning the falcon got pulled down and lost its grip, it ended up tumbling a couple of times on the gravel, it got up right away, but didn’t try taking off, it was just standing around maybe because it was dazed not sure, though I love animals I wasn’t having some freakin falcon do this to my sav, I steered my sav towards the bird and went to WOT, it flew away before I even got close, talk about the hunter ending up being hunted, now I don’t know much about birds of prey but I thought they were supposed to have really good eye sight so I don’t know how the hell my sav looked anything like a rabbit or squirrel, I can only assume that because it was starting to get dark and because it saw it heading back for the trees it decided to take a chance, has this happened to any one else or has any one heard of anything like this happening? so instead of just looking around to make sure there is nothing I might run into I now have to keep an eye on the sky! this is definitely going down as the number one highlight in my rc career!

LoL thats comedy! The Falcon could have been acting territorial tho? Possibly you were coming close to its nest or somethin, and it was just attempting an attack. Not real sure on their behavior, but that seems more likely than a falcon actually thinkin the Savage is a meal... makes a bit too much noise to be a rabbit or any rodent!

Too bad you didn't have a camera, that'd been great! I'm building a Savage SS right now (took a 30 min break) -- Mountin the trans up to the frame now. When I'm done, I'll keep an eye out for Birds of Prey..

Since falcons hunt critters on the ground, I can only guess that since the Savage was headed for the woods, it was after a meal. No doubt a young bird still learning. An amazing story, I only wish I had seen it for real.
The only other possibility is that the falcon was an avid R/C nitro fan and wanted another basher for his private collection, and the LHS didn't want to sell him one.

That is the most interesting and funny think I think I have ever heard about RC. I mean I have heard of dogs going after trucks but a falcon, Man. To bad you didnt have a video camera that would of been the best video.

LOL thats hilarious, I thought you were gonna say you smacked into the falcon..

LMAO!!!

Just think if the bird would have taken off with it. Would make the term "runaway" look nothing compared to a fly away r/c!!!!!!!

The only good thing would be you could see how far your radio would reach!

Had that little bastard taken off with my sav, I would honestly still be out there looking for it! HA, I also found that the falcon was able to poke a small hole on the sidewall of the tire, I really do wish I had video of it, in retrospect it was funny but at the time I really did think it was going to fly away with it, first I was scared it would, then I was pissed it tried! next time I'm bringing a BB gun, don’t get me wrong I like animals, but I love my sav!!!
