has anyone seen any of the Olympics yet?. . .or has anyone seen the vid of the poor Georgia Luger that was killed?

I've watched all the skiing events so far. Moguls and flying. I've also watched the luge. Can't deal with the figure skating.
The Olympics have been dedicated to the luger from Soviet Georgia, and the entire track was shortened because of it.
I absolutely LOVE the winter Olympics since I almost grew up on skis, but I have pretty much a zero interest in the Summer sports.

I haven't got to watch much of the day events but I have been watching the events while I'm in bed. Amazing stuff those guys and girls are doing.

i havent, and dont want to whatch the vid. i hear it is insanely graphic.
yeah my favorite event is the alpine skiing.

I can't believe that they showed it. I also love the winter Olympics. The only thing I don't watch is figure skating.

they showed it like three times on the olympics and several other times on news channels. but they removed it from the air because they were getting complaints, and rude emails.

I for one am glad they removed it and while it might be on youtube now it won't be for long as they've been very good about removing it.

I was shocked to see it on national TV replayed not once or twice but three times within about 2mins. I seen it at a subway on my way to Gatlinburg last Friday.

oh i agree with 100% man, its wrong that they showed it on tv so many times, and then people pirating it to you tube for their amusement. A man lost his life and it doesn't need to be made fun of. Some of the comments that were made on the youtube video of it were very disrespectful to the man.

I understand that they shortened the track by about the length of 2 football fields, as well as adding extra retaining walls after the accident.
He had spoken to his father by phone and said that the track terrified him.
Apparently it was designed for excitement while neglecting safety.

I'm suprised he's only the third person to die at the olympics. sad.:(
but i would love to meet some of the people saying dumbass stuff about georgia luger (lugist?). id would love to have a nice little chat. :devious:

look up the vid on youtube and just read some of the down right mean comments people are leaving, and if you do if you see luminaracer as one of the commenters thats me

Unfortunately I saw it too. It sucks that he was killed. The thing that pisses me off is the track design. They should have a high smooth wall where those posts are. It just blows my mind. Those tracks should be idiot proof. Instead these guys literally can't make a mistake or else,......that happens.:(

I have to agree that the safety of the track was questionable at best with the exposed posts. Going that fast there should have been nothing for them to hit.

i couldnt believe they even showed it on the news,as a rule they wont show stuff like that.while watching it all i could think about is i just watched someone die and was truly disturbed by it all!! the poor guy looked like a rag doll when he slammed into that steel support beam, was a real sad day for the sport!!!

i know this is an event that is a couple of days old, but did you guys see the gold and silver medalists in the womens skiing????. . .they didn't look like skiers to me. . they looked like models. . .i'm just sayin

You're gonna have to be a little more specific, there's a lot of women's skiing. Slalom, grand slalom, super g, downhill etc........... :D But yeah some of those alpine skiing women are mighty easy on the eyes.

I don't remember which event it was i just happened to turn the channel and saw the medal ceromony and i was like "DAMN, those girls are skiers??"
