I had this 57 Chevy lid sitting around for a while, so I decided I wanted to do an old school hot rod look paintjob on it. I had a few problems with my brush, and unfortunately it did not come out as nice as I had hoped for, but it still looks decent so I figured I would show it to you guys anyway.

Dang Joe that is pretty sweet!! Never seem to stop impressing everyone with your mad skills. The detail is amazing. Is this for you or do you plan to sell this beauty.

Again... mad skills man.

Thanks Jon, I was really impressed with the detail on this body, especially being that it is a Parma body and we all know there lids are usually lacking in detail. But this is a three piece lid, they had to do it that way to get the grille detail, with the bullets and all, or else they would not be able to get it out of the mold. It was definately a challenge to cut paint and assemble it, getting the body lines and paint scheme to all line up properly.

I was originally going to use this myself on my RS4 3 since the 57 chevy is one of my all time favorite cars, but with Christmas coming it is headed to evilbay so I can raise some cash for gifts for the family. I can always do another one for me after Christmas.

Another awesome one, Joe. But I gotta ask. Are you still hand-cutting the flames, or have you invested in a vinyl cutter. 'Cuz they look to damn good to be hand-cut.

Jeff, the flames on the hood and front end are hand cut, the ones on the side are actually a parma mask I had still laying around. I would love to get a vinyl cutter though.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Just last night I watched part of an infomercial for a vinyl cutter. I never even thought we guys could use it for masking paint jobs because they had a woman doing lame crafts with it. I didn't catch the price, but it was really amazing for a small table top unit.

There are a few nice compact ones. I've been debating a Stika cutter for a while. Almost got one for Christmas last year. They are great. We could use it for cutting paint masks. And also for cutting graphics and logos for the outside when the body's done. And if I know me, I'd be making vinyl graphics for everything in the house.

Wow. Nice job man.

Total freakin' sweet! Love it... Can't tell from the pics that's three pieces. That VERY nice to look at Joe :thumbup:

Forget the one I mentioned seeing in the infomercial. It can not be connected to a computer, and comes with 2 cartridges of preprogrammed fonts and designs.
There's NOTHING you can design yourself.
