hey hows it going, i have an old t-maxx .15 that has been sitting for over a year now, i started it up using a glow igniter since the blue wire sucks and it ran about 3 tanks on it and its still not running as strong as it should. new glo plug installed. any ideas?

If it was sitting for over a year you could have a buildup of gunk in the engine. Taking it apart and giving it a good cleaning should help. Couldn't hurt anyway...lol

yeah its got gunk on top of gunk lol. easiest thing to use to clean it?

Maybe clean the engine and the fuel tank and maybe put a fuel filter in it.After you do that tune and it should be good to go.

take some card cleaner ( laquer thiner works well) and spuirt on the piston and in the motor. let it sit a while and then rinse the whole motor with wd 40. Btw if it has a composite carb pull the carb off first

You could also spray nitro cleaner in it let it sit for about 5 mins rinse with WD and wipe if theres more repeat. Then when its all done rinse really well with WD-40. The reason i say use nitro cleaner so you can clean out yor carb while you clean out the casing. I have done this to about 4 engines and it works really wel.

well carb cleaner/ laquer thinner is a very strong solvent and gets rid of anything fuel. they use this stuff to clean off homemade napalm its so good.

LOL I know it's strong but he would need something to clean out carb to. I don't think the carb body would hold up to that stuff lol.

you would purge the carb very quickly with it then right after ward rinse it with wd 40. let it dry then repeat

Well i do beleive that would work. Thank god you posted that comment because i could see people soaking it. Oh could you imagine the mess.

well if you do it right simple green is all you need to clean a carb. they are so easy to take apart. take one apart and flush it out and probably get a new seal kit for one that old

i need a step by step easy way to take apart the motor. help pleasee

1.unscrew the top screws that hold the head on
2.remove the head
and its pretty easy to clean from there
unless you wanna completely take apart the engine
