I know as I getter better at breaking my T-maxx I spend a lot of time working on it. I want to know from everyone what is the ONE most needed tool for your nitro r/c.
For me, hands down, it's got to be my telescoping magnet. When I drop an allen wrench, or one of the set screws on my servo linkage, pick up my magnet, boom there it is.

yeah... my dremel has saved me more times than i care to share...

i'm getting into electric, and the only thing i don't have is a soldering iron. yeah... that'd be a good thing to have, lol.

one of those magnets sounds pretty cool...

its a toss up between a good set of hex wrenches or needle nose pliers. without those i dont think i could survive working on anything

My credit card is my most needed tool in my workshop. Without it I couldn't get all my online orders for parts.

Good set of hex drivers comes in a close 2nd.

++++++++1111111111111111 oh and the wife to do the order paying...

wife?!?

I had not cinsidered the credit card, but sure does come in handy when you break. I have not invested in the hex drivers, that's actually why I started this thread, I am new to nitro and wasn't really sure where to spend my money. Looks like hex drivers are a winner!
By the way, what's everybody using the dremel for? I have one and I never use it for anything it's one of those tools I got as a gift and it just collects dust in my garage.

for me...a hammer for when the damn things breaks a small piece and ruins the day.

for me... clean flat and level work space other than the kitchen counter, table...Wife would kill me if I dropped a muddy ride on that!!!

Time...... If I have the time to actually sit down and do something right.. I am ahead of the game right there. I seem to have to do things fast and just enough to make it work. I find myself on race day thinking it would have been nice to have cleaned those bearings and CVD joints. I spend more time fixing things just because I didn't have the time the week before.

Wife

My wife would kill me if she knew I've been working on my trucks on the kitchen table, but I do! The lighting in the kitchen is so much better than my garage, plus I have a toddler running around, so it's nice to stay in the house AND get my truck fixed.

Credit card, hex wrenches, and a good hiding spot for the receipts. Absolutely mandatory tools in my house!!!

I have three dremals and the dremal workstation w/drillpress

corded dremal and two battery powered models one about 15 years old and a new lipo powered one I got for christmas.

they come in handy for polishing shock shafts and hingpins as well as putting a slot in stripped out screw heads, trimming body posts, body post holes and openings in bodies, removing burrs on both metal and plastic parts the list goes on and on.

other then that the top three tools not counting the credit card are
1. Good Quality Hex tools, Socket Wrenches & screw drivers.
2. Good flat surface with Good Lighting & comfortable chair.
3. fully stocked fridge with your beverage of choice and some type of snack food.

for me it's got to be reverse tweezers. They just seem to come in handy a lot. You'd never think how often they are helpful till you have 'em.

for nitro I'd say a really good long thin flathead screwdriver adn then hex wrenches....I don't have alot of loose screws on my rigs anymore...I use loc-tite and teflon tape to keep it all together now.....

Beer.
