ok broke in my new 3.3 in last week now trying to tune it. first thing, from a dead stop when i hit the throttle it revs up then bogs down and when i let off and go again it goes just fine might be getting to much fuel but not to sure. second, when i do a high speed run and let off it sounds like its bouncing of a rev limiter any suggestions and thanks in advance

When pinching the fuel line to shut it off how does it act? It is supposed to run for two to three seconds then rev a tiny bit and shut off. If it last longer lean it out if it shuts off right away richen it. Very small increments on the low speed needle doesn't take much to go from perfect to crap. High speed needle tune for smoke and temp. A lot of people say not to tune for temp but if its getting too hot its a problem and should be a factor in tuning. Remember better rich than lean and the stock setting arent always right. In 50 degree weather my motor runs well above stock 4 turns hs and 1 1/2 on the low. I turned my almost 5 out on high speed and 2 out on the low speed needle and tuned down from there.

Normally if too rich it will bog instantly so id say ur too lean if it bogs after u have already taken off.

from a dead stop to wide open it bogs instantly. on the pinch test it shuts off in a second or less and for the pinch test you adjust the lsn right? and it was in the mid 70's when i took it out

Ya ur way lean on the low speed. The low speed needle is supposed to be screwed flush with the dish it sets in or about 1 1/2 turns. I had to back mine out further than that. If i were you i would back the lsn out two full turns and the hsn 5 turns. Do a couple passes do the pinch test turn the lsn 1/16 of a turn and repeat until ur motor shuts off in about 3 seconds just get it close. Be sure the motor is over 200 degrees and no more than 270. Also when turning your needles all the way down just get them snug because u can break them pretty easily. Dont get too frustrated either I've been around hot rods all my life and kno my way around motors and i still had a tough time tuning my first motor. The second time i did it it literally took 10 min. Just keep at it and dont pull a muscle celebrating once u do get it running good lol good luck.

Ok so need help again got it tuned doesn't bog down from a dead stop anymore but does bog down from half throttle to full one more thing should there be air bubbles in the return line

Is it cutting out or is it bogging out. Cutting out would be too lean and bogging is when u over load it with fuel.

It's bogging like when I go wot and let off and go wot again it bogs

Okay think I got it tuned okay have smoke coming out pinch test cuts out in about 2 and half to 3 seconds might richen it up just a little and it still won't do wheelies but maybe because its the surface I'm driving on idk tighten the spur gear down backed it off a quarter turn to Any help or comments thanks in advance
