Do you think this would do the job with 40 series mashers on a savge?

Sure that will work. But you might want to check out a couple of others:
That one was rated at 124 oz @ .20 sec
The Hitec HS-645MG is rated at 133 oz @ .20 sec and is only $2 more

I use the Hitec HS-5645MG: 164 oz @ .18 sec - but it is about $14 more than the other one you are looking at. However, I can vouch that it has no problems pushing around 40 Series Big Joes on the Savage.

u may also wanna invest on hump packs cuz it really makes a lot of difference ...hump pack and 645 servo combo is the best

I have hump packs. The futaba 3pm controller comes with that servo. So i was going to use it on sterring or buy the futaba 1/8th servo.
