I am about to break in my new S-25 and the house fuel I got from a LHS has 12% oil. Is that good enough for break-in?

Cool avatar DL.

I was wondering the same thing, which brand of fuel? What % nitro? A little more info would help us answer your questions better.

Its a house brand sold by my LHS. 20% Nitro. Label says made by Powermaster.

I dont know about that fuel. I have too much invested in my cars and trucks to trust the quality control of the "house" brands. I only use Odonnell 20%, it is a great fuel. I have also used Trinity Monster 20% in the past and it too is a very good fuel. Personally I would stick with the better quality fuel, even if you have to pay a little more for it, or have to travel a bit further to get, imo it is worth it.

I will second what NCNitro said. O'donnell is all I will ever run. I've tried Trinity Monster, Traxxas Top Fuel, Sidewinder, & Wildcat. None have run as good as the O'donnell. If you can't find any local, scoop some up off the internet.

I would be cautious of the house salad oil. Especially since you are breaking in your engine. You want to make your engine last & perform, so get some nitro fuel that will do that.

fuel

I've used that fuel before(powermaster) do yourself a favor and stick with something like trinity or o'donalls. the powermasters I used the first time came in a metal can .condensation can build up in the metal cans .plastic jugs are much better.

i agree with them you spend good money on the car or truck then you buy discount fuel its not worth it just spend a little more and get the name brand fuel...names brands are tested and raced they put more time and money into their r & d departments.

I just picked up a quart of 0'Donnel 20% Nitro at another LHS. I went back to the original LHS and they would not take back the unused "House" Nitro as a return. They are now telling me that the house fuel is made by S&W. I might just end up throwing it out.

The O'donnell will work great for you. I wouldn't throw out the other nitro fuel. You can at least use it to clean your air filter whenever you need to clean it. Nitro fuel works like a champ.
