ok i was taking apart my savage x 4.6 yesterday to clean it and got it all put back together but when i went to tighten one of the the screw inside the purple cooling head, the end of my hex key broke off inside the screw, so i can't fit any hexes in the screw now what should i do to get it out,

also could i fit a bigger engine in my truck and if so which ones thanks

If it's inside the cooling head and tightened down all the way, you will need to use a Dremel cut-off wheel and try and cut the head of the screw off.

Once you are able to do that you can removed the head and use some vice grips to remove what's left of the bolt.

You will probably cause some damage to the cooling head while doing this.

At this point, if the head is tightened down you might as well run it and leave it alone until you have to remove the head again.

would u know if these tires would fit on the stock savage x 4.6 rims

If the hex just twisted off in the bolt head, you should be able to finagle it out with a scratch awl or dental pick. A magnet may even pull it out. Take the truck for a ride to warm up the engine if it won't come out cold. It may expand enough to let 'er go.

+1! Turn truck over and shake? Or tap the engine with the butt end of a screw driver? I've twisted of the end of a hex driver once. It broke really clean. Still use it.

More than likely it's wedged in the screw head or it would not have broken off.

You could also try poking at it with a straight dental pick. You might get lucky and dislodge it.

ya iv tried taking it fore a run then shaking it out but it didnt work so il try some of ur ideas and let u know
