Hi,i just finish the break-in of my new Ofna Picco .21b 1/8 buggy, byt dont know a good setup to run it perfectly calibrated of gas/air, right now the engine got 3 1/2 turns from close but the buggy got a slow aceleration and a very smoking top,can anyone got the final adjustments or kow it after make the break-in ? oh and if got a good gears combination plz let me know. Thanks

I actually had to richen the HSN on mine during breakin. The included stock pipe is what kills the power. Use a quality 30% fuel with 10-12% oil. Also medium temp plugs like the MC-8 and the O'Donnell's purple sport plugs. The O'Donnell's plugs are cheap but last forever and keep a consistent tune. Pick up a 086 style pipe when you can, that will unleash 25% more power from it. Keep the HSN where it is and start to slowly lean the LSN until it accelerates good, then lower the idle speed. That is a very quick engine, I loved mine. Don't change the gearing. Try to keep the temps under 250F, Mine ran best around 220F after I got a whole gallon thru it, it hovered around 240 during breakin which took 3/4's of a gallon.

THanks men !!, one last thing, can you give me your needles tunning setup,I'm really a rookie and i want to get the hole performance on this buggy,i got it rich,i dont touch the neadles from i buy it in the hobby shop and the seller tunning it 2 me to make the break in,and he want to charge me $40 only for fine tunnig and tunning it after the break-in :( any help to tunning this engine settings in the needles after break-in ? i got a temp gun too to make the changes only need to know how many turns i need to do to each needle. Thanks and sorry for the inconveniences to be so newbie :\ THANKS

No two engines are the same. Climate, elevation ,fuel....tooo many variables to give a setting. The engine is exetremely beefy inside, very thick sleeve with very nice machining. No other 100 dollar engine can touch it. Anyways the point is, don't be afraid. That engine is really tough, I highly doubt you can tear it up unless you get dirt in it. Start tuning it in small increments and see what happpens. Unfortunely unless someone is right there to guide you, you'll have to learn on your own. I did.
Google "R/C Nitro engine tuning" Read all you can stand. Then go apply it and tune your buggy. Always allow 2-3 minutes of running between adjustments.
P.S. if you are using the pullstart I feel for you! Mine was damn near impossible to crank with the pullstart.

lol yes i still have the pull starter, but i think the one way bearing is allready in his last days,I'm planing to buy a starter box, this engine that i see gets very hard at the biggining with the pull starter making the break-in,but allready is a little more softer to pull ;) i allready read a couple of info and got my engine runing ok ;) now I'm looking for good tires, inserts, springs and to buy the 086 muffler ;) thanks a lot bro :)

The stock white shock springs are perfect, don't change them unless you are bashing.
Servos, an aluminum clutch with 1.0 springs, couple sets of tires and the Dynamite 086 pipe are the next things you need.
