I thinking about purchasing a new savage and immediately replace the engine with the Ofna Hyper .21 8-Port.

Just to make sure.. is it this one? OFNA Manufacturer Stock# 53212

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0095P?FVSEARCH=53212&FVPROFIL=++&search3=Go

Is it a perfect drop in? Will I need any additional parts to make it work? Pipe? Air filter?

Links and parts number will be nice.

Anyplace sells it cheaper then towerhobbies or stormer hobbies?

Yeh, that is the right engine but you might want to order if from Extreme RC Motorsports- Better price, and a lot better service than Tower.

But yeh, you shouldnt need anything but the enging everything else stock on the truck will work with it.

So how does this engine rate in comparison to the stock engine or the .26? I have had my Savage since Tuesday and still breaking her in. Just the new guy.......:opps:

I couldn't agree more, I bought my 8port and many other parts from Edward over at Extreme RC Motor Sports. Excellent guy to deal with.

If I were you I would spend a few more bucks when you look into the new mil and get the pico 26. I have the 8 port on my savage and have been running along side a guy who has the 26 and it is much stronger and faster than mine. Another reason to get the 26 is the roto-start fits right on. It dosn't fit the 8 port. I had to do a bunch of machining to make it work, and it waisted out the fan/one way bearing at a cost of 25 bucks to replace. I will get a pico as soon as they have more on the shelf. I wish someone would have told me what I'm telling you

I've never seen the .26, but I'm sure its a little better than Hyper 21 witch is a huge improvement over the stock engine. But I would have my fun with the stock engine first. Once you get the .21BB broke in, you will have some fun with it and then start to get than itch to upgrade.

Thanks for the info! Going bashing today. She is real tempermental out here in the heat. Have a little over a quarter gallon through her and have not done too much tuning. Trying to keep her cool out here. I leaned the top end a little to get her to shift but it is sooo hot here (100+).
