I use went to the hobby shop to get the violater they dont have it but they ordered one and said it was the .26 with a pull start. but it comes with a roto start i tought. I want it to be a pull start cause i know how much roto starts suck. now when he said pull start did he mean it dont need a starter box or it is a pull start with the string and such?

if it comes with a roto start and you dont like it, use the roto start shaft in a cordless drill.
You'll be glad you did. breaking in a ,26 is a blister waiting to happen.

They all come with rotostarts. You can either leave the backplate on it and use a starter box, or swap out the backplate for a pullstart one.

Why do you dislike roto's? I think they're great. The only thing better is an on-board starting system like EZ-Start. But then agian, I sold my .21 T-Maxx and bought a Savage just cause I was fed up with pullstarts.

no matter how I use a roto start the one way bust when I first got it they would bust It could of been my fault. but last week my pull start broke after a year and I didnt want any downtime so I reinstalled my roto start with a brand new oneway and one week later its broke. Now I notice oil all over my back plate, it has been like that since I got my savage but now it is getting worse I am thinking about buying a starting shaft ( the think the oneway sits on)check out this picture this really makes me think it comes with a pull start http://ofna.com/images/Vio-Top-NoBody-BIG.jpg I got that from ofna do you see the pull start handle?
I do

yes, that picture has the pullstart. ofna has a tendency to change things though. you'll almost have to wait and find out. you might give nitrohouse a call. NitroHouse they are a good ofna distributor and may have a direct answer for you.

That pic is probably of the prototype or very early (non-released) production model. I have seen quite a few in person, and a few friends have them, none of them came with pullstarts.

Whenever you trash a one-way bearing, you should also replace the one-way shaft. If it gets scratched or scored, it'll trash the oneway bearing.

I've got almost a gallon through my savage and violator, with absolutely no problems. Everyone I know that knows how to maintain and operate RC's has not had problems. You might want to get together with some veteran RC guys that run savages and see what they're doing different than you.

If your backplate is leaking, you need to take it off, clean it up, and put it back on with blue loctite on the screws. If fuel is getting out, air is getting in, it is probably causing you some tuning issues. Consider putting a tiny silicone bead around it to further seal it.

ok As for that pic I am thinking the same thing.

About the one-way shaft I didnt know that , I will look in to getting one.

the reson I think my backplate is leaking it because of the one-way shaft I think Because I have cleaned it like you said before and it didnt help, As for that air thing I dont notice any tuning issues.

The important part is tightening it with loctite on the screws. If it still leaks, the seal may be bad. Either get a new seal or put a bead of silicone on the backplate so that it can seal up on the back of the engine.

I Finally Got my Violator boy It is a good buggy, It is my first buggy and I am going to use it. Reading I was reading the manual Ofna made it sound like some of the 9.5V came with a pull start. I am using a drill and it Seems good for now. This Thing Flys but I am not use to being so low to the ground. So I try to go up my drive way fast and It smakes the ground. I just added 30wt oil to them to help keep the car up. I am also not use to turning at high speeds Every time I turn when going fast I was really happy that one arm didnt come up. I also raced my brothers rustler and the old rusty got off the line faster but after 4 seconds I was pulling up next to him. I Am Very Happy With This Buggy. Just one question How do you guys keep your wheel nuts on? I tighten them with a socket but they seemed to fall off Can I add thead lock to them?
