Sup guys! I just sold the 2.5 engine off my T-Maxx and I was thinking of purchasing the Ofna .21 Picco Max. Is this engine good? Am I gonna see a major increase in power? Also, are there replacement parts available to purchase for this engine?
:n00bie:

well it started out as a good engine for me but less than 10 tanks it broke something inside....possible crank or rod. Waiting for Ofna to possibly replace it since it less than 2 months old and just broken in or shall I say broken. Ofna says they may replace it or they may charge me $50 for a rebuild which I say is BS since I had tuning issues from the start and barely went past half throttle when it locked up on me.
However the very few minutes I had it running which was not too many, the engine screamed really fast. Definitely more faster than the previous Sirio 18 I had on the Maxx.
If Ofna does not honor a replacement for defective parts, then I may just dump a cheap engine in it and put it up for sale. Besides, I have dumped plenty into the Maxx and have had nothing but bad voodoo towards it.
Good luck with whatever engine you choose for your Maxx.

Hey NJRC, did that Sirio .18 work out 4 you? Is it alot faster than the stock 2.5 engine?

The Sirio 18 was also a great engine for me....I know just from facts it was a more powerfull and faster engine than the 2.5
However I have never had a 2.5 since I bought my Maxx already all hopped up so I can't compare a 2.5 with what I have used which is the Sirio 18 and the last Ofna Picco 21 Max.
I would go for another Picco 21 if I had the choice and thats why I hope Ofna replaces mine under some sort of warranty.
Just remember that the Picco 21 is really powerfull. I twisted my front plastic stock drive axles and later upgraded to MIP steels. Now I have MIP steels all around. I also run all RRP gears in a forward only tranny.
So if you go for a stronger engine, you need to support it with stronger parts.

Hey NJ, if I were to go with the Sirio .18, would I have to worry about the stock drive axles and change to MIP steels all around?

I would change over to MIP steels all around just because they are much more reliable in strength.
This was my Maxx with the Sirio 18TX

NJ, that's Sweeeet man! I think I might just get the Sirio 3.0 .18. Later on I'll get the MIP. I hope that the Sirio 3.0 .18 won't start messing up my bone stock T-Maxx!
