So the problem I am having with my o.s carb on my maxx 3.3 is... The rod that connects to the carb and controls throttle is rubbing against the rubber boot over the carb. So I was wondering if there is a different connecter to connect the ball on the carb.

You could loosen the cinch nut that holds the carb in place and turn the carb clockwise slightly, or put a slight bend in the carb link (between the carb and bell crank).
Or you could do both.

Yep I just turned the carb before the post but was still not closing all the way. So the bend in the rod too it helped. It didn't take much. Thanks for the response
