I wuz wondering how this engine is for an associated rc10gt. I've heard that its a pretty good engine in general but i don't really no much about it. Is it easy to tune? How much power will it add to my truck. If anyone has any info or if u know of a better engine, id like to know.

hows it going

the os 18 cv is a great engine any os engine is good and yes it is easy to tune i have it in my t-maxx and thats fast you will be happy or you can go with os 18 tz wich is little faster more torqey both are great i have both

wut type of shaft would i need? i just took the old engine off and it looks like a long shaft but i can't tell.

Rc10gt + 18cv rx

I have one in my gt and to be honest it IS to much power! Well at least for my track! My longest straight is about 100ft and I can't even come CLOSE to opening it up. I do have a driveway that is about 800ft long, blacktop, and straight as a preacher! I would ESTIMATE (yes everyone just a guess) that it may top out around 45-50 mph? not sure AGAIN JUST A GUESS. I have only really opened it up two times, way to hard to control at those speeds, I realize everyone does not have a track in their backyard. If you are planning on racing it in parking lots or big fields (ie baseball diamond) the thing would be a TERROR!! Back to my point If/when I need a new motor for my GT would I get another 18CV RX--------------------thinking--------------------HECK YA I love having all that power, do I use it NO! But if you are an IDIOT like myself that lives life by the motto "IF A LITTLE IS GOOD ALOT IS BETTER!!! Then go for it!

What are you talking about? To much power? Thats not possible! But I'm guessing by the top speed that you said, that it probably wont keep up with my jato?

Agreed

I think we are on the same page, there is no such thing as to much power!! BUT (there is always a but) there is wasted/unused power, which equates to wasted money. To be HONEST I am very nervous running full out. The couple times I have run WOT, I've either crashed or come close to crashing!! I have a track in my backyard and I can't use 1/2 the power the OS 18 puts out. I could have saved a couple bucks and went with a 12 or 15 and most likely turn the same lap times. As far as keeping up with your JATO!! Not sure I've never ran one, my guess is it handles a little/lot better than my GT. Still I would LOVE to take up the challange! Regardless of who won, it would be a RIOT!

Track in your backyard? Nice! Did you use the stock pipe or did you go with something else? I'm getting this engine for Christmas but i didnt order a pipe cuz i didnt think it would make much of a difference. would it really change the performance that much?

Another question. what else would i need for the engine for it to work? i know the shaft is different so what clutch nut ,if any, would i need? i think i ordered the wrong one when i ordered the engine but I'm not sure

Ae 7618

I belive it is AE part #7618, and if I remember right, the shaft of the motor needed to be cut down, please check another source for that BEFOR CUTTING. Otherwise I need to tear that truck down soon, so I'll pull the motor tonight and let you know tomorow!

Well i ordered the engine that said it had a short shaft and was made for the rc10gt series so i shouldnt have to cut it... Right?

Should Fit

I think that it should fit then. For some reason I though I had to cut that shaft down a bit.
