My friend gave me a Os 15 for my tmaxx. It feels good and tight. Don't know if it was broke in right or not. It is really strong in the first 10 feet and after it goes into 2nd gear. But it takes 75 yards to get into 2nd gear. It just don't gain any speed at mid range. The ts needle is at 1 3/4 turns out. It will not run at 2 1/2 out. Now since it runs really good when it goes into 2nd gear this tell me that the ts needle is close. So it must be the low speed needle. Any thoughts?

Taking too long for it to shift into 2nd could be because its too rich on the High speed needle(HSN).

Yeah but the HS needle is at 1 3/4. All I have had is traxxas pro 15s so maybe the os 15 is different. I am afraid to turn it down much lower than 1 3/4. lol.

Well if your afraid of trying what may work then what else do you do to fix it? All engines run at their peak at very different needle settings. The same turns out dont work for different mills. Tune for performance and keep check on temps. You may only have to turn it in an hour or even less to get where it needs. If it doesn't help then no damage is done, but you have to turn the needles to get your tune.

Yeah that is why I was kinda afraid to lean it more. But I just ran a tank through it at about 1 1/2 and it shifting a lot better. Seems really strong. Glow plug went dead so I'm giving it a charge and going back for another tank. Could be coming around now.

Those temps are way to high. So you best bet is to go back to factory settings on both needles and start fresh with tuning. Here is a link for all OS engine manuals. Find the one for your mill and read up on stock settings for it.

small engine+big truck= higher temps
if its running good you may want to gear it down a bit to make it not work so hard
